ok..i get it. thanks cory, nick. i'll make a mental note of that. i'll expect to hear it at lower volumes then, if at all. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

a larger box will usually yeild two things for certain... it'll reinforce the lowend it'll make the sub more efficent, allowing for more excursion and possibly more output based upon similiar power.. however, it'll also, typically, lower power handling... and, evidently, raise impedence and actually lower the available power...but we shall see. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

most would agree they (the hifonics) are overrated as too their power output. regardless, they are pretty solid lil amps for the money. i have had zero issues with the hifonics (nemesis nx750d) in my wife's car pushing her rl-p. other amps to look into though include power acoustik, ma audio and some directed. tsunami is a respectable brand, not sure if u can find them for that price. IMO, however, the hifonics would be a solid choice. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So how can i get those 24v to my amp
mrray13 replied to djjdnap's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
in a sense, yeah.... same voltage, double the amperage (reserve capacity) IIRC... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -

Then I will continue to dream with you... rl-p10 would be perfect for what I am looking to do. If they ever go to production I would be the first to order 3 of them. I love the looks and everything about the rl-i line but I just wouldnt be able to get the full fun out of my amp with the rl-i line im afraid. After I showed this site to my friend he just about busted a nut when he saw the rl-p series and read about them but hes set on 4 tens and would never change. did ya know at one time mike (soundsplinter himself) had 3000wrms going to a pair of rl-i tens? have u heard/seen the video here of the rl-i tens playing? i'd wager that the rl-i 10's are more then enough for what ur after, short of a solo x 10..lol... my rl-i 8 weighs in at about 20pds ( i know weight means nil) and is about as bulletproof as they come. i've ran hx2 8's for a long while and the rl-i 8's would smackthem into oblivion..lol email mike...he'll let ya know if the rl-i's will work for what ur trying to do... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, that answers that...lol.. i'm going to be building either a 7.5ft^3 or 10ft^3 version here directly...probably tuned around 52-53hz with at least 200in^2 of port for comp and half that port with a 34-36 hz tuning for daily.. maybe..lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
i likey as well!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
hmmmm...i wonder why? well, i'm still going to build larger, to better take advantage of what power i have, and i'll test to see just what kinda of rise it is. and i might be switching amps anyway..lol...to better take advantage of what rise there is... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

awww shucks... thanks guys... but i think he's trying to not have to have one shipped... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, just about any sub will be heard outside of the vehicle..lol... but, if ur interested in the rl-p's (they are really nice subs!) and going by what u say ur after...a pair of 12" rl-p's sealed (about 2.5ft^3 net for the pair) or a 15 ported (about 2-2.5ft^3, with 25-35in^2 of port tuned between 28-32hz)will both do the trick. i'd recommend about 1200-1500wrms for the pair of 12's and 750-1000wrms for the 15 ported. that will get ya plenty loud and sound great as well... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

jim..u could send me a copy..lol and how long are those ports again?? u need to pm me with ur shipping addy and the port lengths.. i'm going to try to have it shipped by saturday...the redo is going to set me back a bit..sorry! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
