the H1 alpha's are coming!! (actuall all hummer's will get an alpha model, meaning better performance, tires, yada,yada,yada)..the H1 alpha means u get the duramax and allison combo...300hp and 520lb-ft of torque and a 2" body lift to accomadte them. performance? how about the ability to a climb a 22" vertical wall? cross a 60% grade, traverse a 40% side slope with 2500pds of payload and ford 30" of water? or towing over 9300 pds? yeah, it's a mans truck..hehe..all for only $141k... oh yeah, 0-6 in 13 seconds.....but it weighs 8114 pds...not too shabby... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

neon, thanks for the link... what if a person has rubber floors? (my bro-in-laws silverado has a rubber floor mat thru out the truck, no carpet) anyway...thanks for pointing jelly in the right direction..i stand corrected.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

smooth as in smooth curve, or as in flat? smooth curve, yes, i think that can be achieved with trial and error..and possibly a nice box modeling program... flat, i don't thinks so. the heat generated by the sub and the damping of the box/suspension will keep it from ever being flat. unless a person could design a varible enclosure that shifts size as heat is generated to compensate....or something..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

they look solidly built, and i've always wondered how the "Dome" midrange would sound... u'll definitely get the "huh" look. i'm not an sq guy, so i get really answer that part, but i've always ran the sub to between 80-100 as i've never used a dedicated midbass. what i would try (see how close i am) sub....70hz midbass 60hz-300hz midrange 250hz-5khz tweet 4.5khz up ok guru's..how far off am i? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i've never heard the brahma...but the xxx IME, only gets lowlow in ported.. so i'll 4th the "install dependant" ..because that's exactly what it is... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

power is power..a watt is a watt...and i honestly don't believe a person can tell a difference in them. now, with all the extra's, an amp can indeed be made to sound better, and appear to be a better value for the money. and ryan, wouldn't u try to set the test up so u wouldn't lose $10k? but in all honesty, the way i read the challange, the amps would be identically gain match and settings all flat. they would be set up so that they put out as close to the same power as can be done. so unless i'm missing somethin, how is that stacking the deck? i think the article is spot on. while i'll agree there might indeed be an exception, someone with super sensitive ears or whatever, for 99% of the population, that article is spot on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

nick no likey re... man, i think i'm done with enclosures after i finish tom's (tlm). i've just finished jim's for the third time and to be honest, i'm still not happy. my wife says they look good, and they do, but they aren't perfect. and i hate that. not to mention, i'm joining the masonic lodge (again, kinda. was in DeMoley as a youth), work is pushing a bunch of ot and i'm just getting tired of car audio again. i've gotta build a kennel, re-roof the house (it's 20 years old), do the land scaping up front and hopefully lift the truck soon. i might even dismantle the scooter and paint it.... i dunno...whatcha think? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

??? huh??? no way...lol oh yeah..supa gets the "pretty boy" award... i'm really leaning towards the scrawny honky for BIS..... we need a pic of arron... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

they do indeed sound really nice. and steve, they aren't the entry level..lol...the pr's are..the mclass use the same basket/motor, but different suspension and cone. they are considered the mid level sub, but i have no clue why. the pr's are sweet too..just like that lil dog pictured. 4 12's, american bass power (aprox 2kw) in an 2000 olds bravada = 147.5 outlaw on the tl.....hehe..freaked a bunch of ppl out. (yeah, my box design) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

x2 but it's still fun to pick on u ford boys..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I played around with the internal volume and finally resorted to drilling a hole in the back, 'venting' it into the floor. Trial and error - see what you like. and this works? i mean doesn't it defeat the purpose of sealing them in the first place? comeon steve, spill ur knowledge.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
thats what i though. i wasn't about to ruin the kicks i spent so long on by drilling a d@mn hole in it! LOL but hollow as in around 100-200Hz, it sounds like all these notes are being played in a bathroom or something. its kinda like..... BOOM(echo, echo) see what i'm saying i was thinking maybe stuffing it full of some polyfill, might tone down the echo some....would you agree or disagree. well, poly is going to make it boomier to a degree..until a point a which u have so much poly it actually decreases volume... i'd try a slug or too first, lower the volume.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

x2^^ and it's nice to see gm( any u.s. product actually) has two out the top five and three outa the top ten....though i wouldn't have guessed buick better then caddy... oh yeah..suck on that ford boys..u've got one up there..hehe...(but i'll give it a nod for the second place finish..) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

awesome! i like how ur trying several different configs out... for my twelve i've used 1.25ft^3 sealed, 2.5ft^3 @ 28hz and 2ft^3 @ 34 hz....the sealed and 2ft^3 ported being my favorites...i imagine the 15 will do nicely in 2.5ft^3 @ 28hz..the 12 got insanely low in all three, but IMO, got really muddy as the volume was turned up in the 28hz box (the xxx did the same) and not real loud. but wow was it awesome in the 34hz box!! and i agree, i think the metallic cone does indeed add a bit of it's own sound..whatever it is, i likes it too!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
hollow? like boomy? i'd suggest slugging it first, lower the volume a bit and see if that helps... if not, and u want to go ported, then port it (i guess..lol..85hz??) but port it, i wouldn't just "drill a 1" hole"...that'll defeat the purpose of having ur mids enclosed..i would think.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

good bit of reading...one i agree with. and i agree with u isaac, i think RC does indeed make a heck of alot of sense...he's problem is he's brutually honest, he doesn't care who he pisses off with what he says (or how). i love both his amp challanges and capacitor challanges....i don't believe anyone has every collected on either, have they? thanks for the link.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i'm out... too few beers....lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
