i already own the subs and they are dual 4 ohm and i plan to run them at 1 ohm. i've fed them 700 watts rms and they seem to handle that with incredible ease so my thinking was they could handle 1200 watts +, but i just wanted to make sure. i feed mine 750 daily. but in my "Testing", the rl-p handled 1200 fairly easily in ported apps. that would be the limit i'd recommend. besides, with box impedence rise and properly set gains, they'll likely never see the full 2500 anyway. but they will handle it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1 12" RL-p sealed 1.5 cuft or 2 12's in .70 cuft

that right there would be just too sweet! i vote for this idea!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
i've given my single rl-p all the way up to 2500 (orion 2500d), but it didn't like it...lol... anyway, kevin (finebar4) is right. with the proper settings on ur amp, the rl-ps will be fine off that amp. and with that amp (and assuming ur getting 2 dual 4's) u can wire for either 1200wrms @ 4 ohm (series, parallel) or 2500wrms @ 1 ohm (parallel, parallel)..so if u think it's too much power one way, go the other...but again, with proper setup, u shouldn't have any issues. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

memphis pr's... will fit the bill quite nicely and save ya a bit of money, even retail. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

try memphis pr 6.5's..jsut get the model number with the O in it, for oversized....under $90 retail (usually about $75) and have a really nice sound to them. of course for the $150 or so, u can get m class..... i have them in my wife's car...really nice...and they have nice mid bass, not great, but it's good. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, the bastages at the car lot now say they aren't for sure if the dealer trade is going to go thru to get our trailblazer here. the financing is approved, they have a $2000 check for downpayment and we have no new car. this sucks!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i have zero experience with the access subs, but i've played with the utopia line. they were really nice sql (heavy on the sq) woofers, but very, very pricey. i've also dealt with focal warranty/customer service. try 4 months to replace a tweet and mid due to shop stupidity. all that adds up to the rl-ps just being a better choice all the way around. sounds just as good,if not better, and has the potential to get louder with the best customer service in the world. SI has a forum right here, and their subs measure up to the rl-ps. nick is also on par with mike when u consider customer service. teh d2's are a lil pricier then the rl-ps, but they are in stock i believe. ( with an introductry price IIRC) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1 12" RL-p sealed 1.5 cuft or 2 12's in .70 cuft
mrray13 replied to Moneyload1's topic in SoundSplinter
if u could get the volume up to 1ft^3 per 12, it would work nicely. might lose some lowend, but overall output would still be nice. if u did the 1ft^3, i'd add the polyfill, help get some of the low end back. if u do the 8's, all u'd need is about .25-.35ft^3 per driver for sealed. so u could possibly get 4 in there. that would give ya enough cone area to help make up for a little less xmax and keep the output close to the brahma. (in theory) but u won't be lacking anything that's for sure. these suckers are mini monsters! oh, and 4 8's would only be slightly more then 2 12's!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -

suggestions , switching from TDX 15" to RL-p
mrray13 replied to alaskanbowtie's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
well, it's going to be hard for a pair of 12's sealed, 10's ported to get any louder then what u have. u will go up in cone area, so in theory, it's possible. (with the 12's). a pair of the rl-p 12's would be awesome in 2.5ft^3 net sealed, off just the single 1000d. and in the very least, u will sound better (most likely, i've not heard the tdx) and be as loud. i don't think u'll lose any output. and i'm pretty sure u'll gain bottom end! the rl-p's love to get low! hope that helps a bit wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
well.... got a trailblazer. it's blue, 2wd, loaded minus leather. get it tomorrow afternoon, thursday morning. the honda ppl wanted more money down then we wanted to put down, so we went back to the trailblazer. and ryan is right. i've got the "beast" (put a car seat on the solo box? it has to be in the truck in order for that to happen) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Ken, I am looking to glass a tub that will span the width of my trunk flow down into the spare tire well be x high and y deep. After approximating the total volume I came up with about 3 cube. The woofer will be an RL-p 12 which does not need this much space so I got to thinking and decided to port it. Then I thought about possiblly getting two 12's and runing the ports outside of the box (a long tube running from the box, directly into the cabin. Then this death box got me to thinking maybe this would be a better use of the space with a single woofer, which is what I prefer as this will allow me to keep my current amp. Is this death box something that could be adapted to that (with the same spare tire well box and maybe even the external port thing)? Thanks Jerry the deathbox isn't one that can be modified. there is some internal stuff that, well, is adjustable. and unless u could figure a way to make that work, i'd say no. 60, i talked to steve on the phone, he said the 8 would work wonderfully in the 10" deathbox. so that's what i'm building. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 60, i talked to steve on the phone, he said the 8 would work wonderfully in the 10" deathbox. so that's what i'm building. ok,but dont say i didnt warn you! if you only want 1 driver, and you have an rl-p 12,id say build a death box-2! i might just build a DB2 as we just bought our trailblazer, get it tomorrow (or thrusday) so a new box is in order!!! yipee!! i love building stuff... pics in a few wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ok..i was hoping that was the message u were going to relay. we have a nice thread about it in the advanced topics forum...found out i did a 144.4 with about 1700wrms on the solo x even though it was wired to produce about 2800 (.5ohm)...so yeah, impedence rise kills. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
