but i'll let you in on a secret....it's not just that your amp has power, but you're maxing out 250wrms subs with 400wrms...chances are, you're as loud as your going to get. like the picture i showed you earlier, i've done an almost identical setup, and trust me, those subs are giving you all they can if you've got your gains set to 400 per sub (before impedence rise of course..lol)... so be careful with that knob, or you'll be trying out memphis's warranty service... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1: rl-p 12 2: 1.25ft^3 sealed, but loved it in ~2ft^3 tuned to 34hz 3: all types of music 4: up to 1200wrms, only needs about 750 to really get after it! 1: rl-i8 2: .75ft^3 tuned to ~36hz 3: again, all types of music 4: given it as much as 1700wrms, but does a great job off 500-600wrms in the rl-i's case, i think a slightly higher tuning (like 40-45hz) would be in order if crazy output was wanted. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

kuijo...swapping gears isn't hard, but it takes patience. and a bearing press depending upon model....lol...be prepared to insert and remove carrier a few times to get the pattern right...there's other tips and stuff, but it's too early... good morning wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

40's and 50's have been hit on different mics using rl-p's (15's)..so they have the capability of getting loud. twice as loud as what u currently have? i have no clue. with the increased cone area and xmax, u should definitely be louder, but no clue as to how much, too many varibles... also, all frequencies should be reinforced as well as output. not just because of brand switch, but because ur increasing potential output...of course, the rl-p is a really nice sub, which tends to reproduce all frequencies strongely. and of course, enclosure is going to be a importance here as well (for the output as well) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Not to jack the thread or anything but what would you rec as far as a SQ ported box for an RL-P 12, a bit bigger? I'm not sure I'm still toying around with making a transmission line for the Rl-p just for fun but I might put my IDMAX in that instead, since I just made a fiberglass box for my SS no, i wouldn't go any bigger. in fact, for sq, i'd just tune a bit lower, possibly. but only if ur midbass was strong. IME, tuning real low takes the output side of things outa the equation. when i did the 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 28hz, i honestly didn't like the sound or the output from the rl-p (or xxx for that matter), but when i slugged the box to get it up to 34-35hz, displacement dropped to 1.9-2ft^3...both sounded awesome. i know of a few ppl running about 2ft^3 tuned to 28hz and love it.. that's why i suggest the 2ft^3 box, it just seems to work well in it.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
