steve...u should name ur towers the Muses devillian..unions are a good and bad thing as jmac pointed out. but ur dad is also correct. they do in fact "spoil" the workforce. so much in fact that even if a person gets fired justly, a good union, thru arbitration, will have said person reemployed, with back pay, quite rapidly. and the workers get complacent about job security..and production can suffer. conversely, without unions in some workplaces, places where u're constantly endanger, or exposed to hazardous materials, u could possibly be working for nothing and to die. they can and do tend to offer the worker a safer place to work and help keep employers from cutting safety corners. my stance on unions? divided. even though i'm part of one, i could honestly care less. though it does help in the benefits area, it sucks because of seniority a good worker will get laid off while a lazy retains their job. and it's hard to get ppl to retire and move up when they are in the gravy. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ur deck should have cut it off at 80.... but instead of speculating, i'll just reply this way.... u have since backed ur gain down a bit, reset the x-over and teh subs are playing fine? my guess is that between ur adjustments, u cured the problem. and if ur not experiencing the popping anymore, u should be fine. as to the one sub doing it and not the other, well, that's a question best reserved for the man who had them built...lol..especially since ur running sealed.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

LUNAR AMPS
mrray13 replied to XTRMEASURES's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
while looks aren't necessarly tops on my list, i gotta agree with supa. also, for $400, it's kinda lacking on features, ie: good crossover. so unless it actually produces like 1500wrms, i think it's a bit on the expensive end for what ur getting. especially when i can get a mc1000d for around that price and know i am getting 1100+wrms... just an opinion here... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
i concur. back in the day blaupunkt was actually pretty highend, but they haven't appeared to keep up in the performance/options/technology/appearance race. they have drifted towards budget oriented systems and for that, they are decent. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

three words.... old skool beetle!! totally reliable, cheap (even if u have to repair them) can be made fast as hell (for what they are), will drive thru anything and are just cool. otherwise, the early vw tourags had some issues, but i believe those are fixed. but that's too much money anyway (the v10TD version would be so sweet!!) get the Prius...u want economy. they are much improved over earlier versions, including more power and mileage (IIRC) and by being a hybrid, u should get a big insurance break.... but i agree with nick and steve. u'll shed a tear, but in the long run be better off. besides, mustangs and cobras are a dime a dozen anyway... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

good morning i got my package from ohio yesterday!! pics will be up directly... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

u'll have to email mike directly for the reconing... and according to ur math, the amp needs to have full gain for the 1200wrms? yeah, i'll bet ur clipping.... reset ur gains with the deck sub control cranked...that will give u a measure of adjustment later. if the gains still have to be maxed to achieve 1200, i'd do the math to get them down to 1000. without an o-scope, it's better to be safe then sorry. and gains cranked are never a good thing.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and? u have almost as much cone area, an amp capable of producing it's power regardless of voltage...and a larger suv which just might help in the transient response. u also make no mention of ur enclosure.... but for real, jl subs are nothing to sneeze at.....except the w0 i just popped with 1200wrms in a sealed box....lol and kusan...lol...get it fused right and remetered.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

in 2.5, i'd up the tuning a bit..somewhere in the 30 range anyway. i ran my 15" treo ss's (similiar in size, power handling) in 2.5@34 and loved them...got really low and louder then s18x off half the power... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i talked to scott yesterday about the xovers...he figures u can pick them up for about $70pr. however, he says if ur blowing xovers and not mids, if u switch xovers, ur going to start blowing mids or tweets. his suggestion is to just go ahead and upgrade to sync componets and u'll be better off... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
