the aeroports (flared) would be the best option, like i stated above. little chance for noise, even with just one 4" flared port. and it will take up little volume. teh dual 3" would be the next best, but would require a slightly larger enclosure due to add port volume. still round over the internal edges. i honestly don't think u'll get any noise, or any audible noise, with just a single 4" pvc port either. again, make sure u round off the internal edges. bb6p shows about 26m/s @ 25hz for a single 4" port in 2ft^3 @ 28hz....well below what is considered audible. and yeah bb6p isn't perfect, but it's pretty close.... but for sure, the more port area, the better, usually. IMO, any of the above three options will work, it's up to u. and as to port location, it's not all that important. not unless ur chasing tenths on a meter.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well....they look nice and solid,! i've went the opposite...i've got the componets already, but haven't built any cabinets yet..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

u really don't need a port that is 7" in diameter... if u go slot port, u'll need about 20in^2 minimum.... however, if u go round, 4" should suffice. i'd honestly recommend doing a 4" aero, which is flared at each end..but a 4" pvc would work. go refigure, without using the port area calculator, and just use the port length one. figure using a 4" port if ur going to go round. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, with ur amp being 900 @ 2ohm, that kinda eliminates the pair of 10's, being all of mike's driver's are d4, u'll never get the impedence u'll need. teh one 12"rl-p in 1.25ft^3 sealed would be sweet...and that can range from about 1.15 to 1.5, depending upon musical preferance. i'd also suggest anywhere from 1.5 to 2ft^3 ported tuned to 32-34hz...no real loss of sq and the output gain is worth it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
while mike's enclosure idea's will work (i mean they are his subs..lol)..i'd build 2ft^3 tuned to 32-34hz....u'll still grab the low's, and have a higher peak in output. u won't sacrifice anything in the way of sq IME..... but any of the three will work and work well... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

excessive amperage 200 amp idle performance
mrray13 replied to Slumpin's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
huh? most cars idle at around 750ish... anyway, most alternators drop voltage down low..not sure if nate's are any different. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
for those smaller projects, why not a small airbrush setup? or touch up gun? tis what we used at my pop's shop... of course me<bodywork..no patience...but put the spray gun in me hand..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

located in our amp section.... and now a question for u... considering ur post, how does it sound? is it loud enough? if those answers are yes, don't sweat the excursion...it jsut goes to show how efficient the sub is at what it does.... if it is no..then time for some work..lol....start with the tutorial...and we'll go from there... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I saw them. My son is into the heavy stuff and drags me to these little venues for these bands when they come to town. We were in a old playhouse to see them with Lamb of God. off topic...but is red rocks still open? it's been too long...i remember sitting on the rocks for ozzy, motley crue and lita ford.....well, it's kinda a fuzzy memory...lol.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ok, friend of mine has a 2005 softtail standard with a stage 2 jet, modified air box and exhaust... i have a 2004 nighttrain (basiclly the same bikes, different engine color and bars from factory mostly)..i know i have exhaust, modded air box and possibly stage 1 jet kit... here's where it gets good... dead stop..we are dead even thru first, hit secon..he's in my rearview...bye bye...me 1, him 0 2 gear roll on.....was close for about 500rpms, lol. by the time i hit third, he's in my rearview....me 2, him 0 3rd gear roll on...see second gear roll on...lol..when i grabbed 4th..bye bye... me 3, him 0 him in 3rd, me in 5th roll on.....he proceeds to walk me until he gets in 5th, i start gaining, we are at 110mph...car decides to make left turn in front of us before i can pass....i'll give it to him so he doesn't goose egg..lol... me 3, him 1* (yep, asterick) anyway..here's a question for u gear heads...based upon this (all other things like gearing are identical on our bikes) why is he only close in the lower rpms and then i fly away? is he running overly rich (he gets better gas mileage then i do, but not by much) by being over jetted? when my rpms build, u can literally hear my motor just take off, almost as if it's boosted..why? i don't get it...i have factory carb, just jetted, and i believe factory manifold...would a mild cam do this? if i turn my idle down to where his is, mine dies and sometimes belches...what gives? sorry for the long post...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
