the extremis have quite a bit more displacment don't they? as in xmax? these daytons have like 4.25mm..... i think with some good eq'ing...these things will really rock..i'm impressed a ton with the daytons..the tweeters sound good too, not overbearing at all, actually quite mellow and they are blended well... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

none that i could hear....tomorrow they go on the pioneer for a listening test... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah, i do...even freeair, they had a tremendous amount of bass for what they are and the power they were getting! his radio just introduces way too much distortion, regardless of speaker used....i'm going to hook them up to the pioneer tomorrow just to listen to them some more! btw, those are ~.66ft^3 enclosures, tuned to ~40hz...it's a great combination! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and here's the finished product!!! they are 2db louder then the OEM pos's according to my RS meter. same songs, same mic location....i even did it with one of the new speakers sitting on the floor!!! anyway, on with the show.... one stained, one not..from the front and back....red mahagony stain (he likes it) everything installed.... what he had..... old vs new...and the new setup... while the new is head and shoulders better then the old, his radio sucks balls. so that will get replaced soon... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

he's out..lol.. anyway... here's a few things i'm looking at... crossovers... midrange/bass.. subwoofers... along with the planars posted above... now, with the drivers being 8ohm and the planars bieng 4ohm..the crossover is designed for 4/8 on the sub part, but is designed for 8 ohm on the mid/tweeter part, what can i expect the xover freq and slope to be? also, what will be the final load shown my reciever? thanks guys...lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

elias, it looks to be a trim panel....go back to page two, towards the top he has two pics.....one where u can see all around the sides of the amp and then one when u can't. going by that, he just cut and carpeted a trim panel the same size as the front of the enclosure and screwed/braded it to the baffle (my guess is screws, so as to make it removeable). as to cooling, the majority of hte heatsink is exposed, and the trim panel won't be sealed, so i would guess that unless she drive's it hard constantly, it should cool just fine. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
