i need help designing a TL box for my rl-i 8 to go under the seat of my silverado. i've finally decided upon this as what i want to do... i will give it 500wrms from a memphis mc500d..... mike or kyle...HELLLLLPPPP!! will a 3" round port be enough or will that even work? i want to keep it lookin like a typical ported box, but ala bose wavelength...i want a good number without sacrificing sq...i need to prove a point to a friend who says the only loud 8 is the L7... i look forward to replies.....i'll get some measurements after i get the rear seat back in (took the 18 solo x and ma audio hk4000d out). let me know what kinda room i need and stuff...please...and i'll forever in ur presence..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

probably more in the neighborhood of 500wrms.... 2500 X 1 @ 1ohm 1700 x 1 @ 2ohm 1200 x 1 @ 4ohm but still very, very impressive for a single 8 at that tuning....btw, what vehicle? and legal or outlaw? tl? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

at least dan said it would be biased...lol... but that thread made sense. my thoughts are this, and they might well be irrelevant....if xbl^2 is so great, or even SC, why is it the only major sub company using any of the three topologies is (will be) using LMT? or is there something out there that i'm missing? that is a question that i have yet to see answered. all the hype over the brahma and old xxx, yet ascendent was the only other company i've heard of to use xbl^2..or am i wrong? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

doesn't look to bad....$99 for a 300wrms 8 isn't bad either. i don't like that they don't have the 8's t/s parameters up though. but that's just nick-picking..lol... what size box/tuning/port area did you build? and glad to have ya here!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

if ur looking for vibration resistant..look a lil higher up the sony food chain. that exact model is in our dodge ram dually quad cab shop truck....4 10" memphis pr's off a pr1000d..6 m class 6.5 coaxils off some pr 4 channel...and if u crank it...it skips. now that vintage dodge truck, 2000 model, is known for having shaky dashes, so that is part of it...but still yet, untill u get into sony's higher end, they could very well skip a beat. my vote is alpine. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

most blue's have regular (olde style) top mount terminals with the wing nut terminals attached. so as long as you can use top mount, u'll need the side post to top mount adapters, u'll be fine... and liek everyone has stated.. DO IT!!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

here it is..the start of my nightmares..lol... first, the car, it's trunk and rear deck.... and now, the build of the bandpass nightmare going in it..... the brace and ports (various other parts) and a view of my home away from home... and now some of the construction.....it will house a 15" treo ss... and a finished side shot and a look into the belly of a beast.... there is about 8.5 hours in that build, definitely the hardest box build i've done to date. even fiberglass is easier, which i suggested, but budget wouldn't allow. for those wondering, the ports will fire up into the rear deck outa that 90* notched area. i'll take pics of them routed out today, and trial fitted. enjoy! any questions, comments welcome! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i like the three way idea...with some decent power on them. i'd also suggest silk tweeters if ur not wanting harsh. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

hey, what's wrong with sony??? i absolutely loved my cdx c860a (i think..lol), except for the skipping problem, it was/is better then the alpine that replaced it (though not by much..the alpine didn't skip, but i lost preout voltage) for the same money. the new, higher level sony's aren't bad at all. the sony screens suck because they have absolutely no preout voltage, or else we are just getting a bad batch, but teh other higher end sony's rock! and look pretty damn sweet too! now, i just bought the 500 for my b-i-l mustang...i think i'll step up and replace the eclipse with one (though with one a little higher up the evolutionary ladder) jsut to prove my point...lol.... nate...u can't go wrong with eclipse...but u gotta spend money to get features with them. the pioneer would be a good all around choice as well... but m5 is right...u can't go on our word alone. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
