we went to the grandmaster's dujo in mcleansboro last night. i grappled his two biggest mma students, lol. they are younger kids, 18/20, both 6ft around 250-260. i americana'd one in about 2.5 minutes and gullitined choked his big, larger brother in about 1.5. and sanders thought these guys would be a challange, lol. young and dumb. old man here taught them a lesson, lol. it was fun though. i learned some more, even taught the brothers a few things after our matches. mini me grappled to a tie with a big old boy. it was a blast to watch. i'm really enjoying this stuff! and i'm down about 17pds. started at 245, currently 228!!! cardio is getting better, as is flexibility, but there is much more to be gained. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Let me ask you this, do you expect and rely on the EMTs and paramedics to be present everywhere all the time or do you learn CPR/first aid? Why would you expect the same of the cops? An armed citizen is to crime what a CPR trained citizen is to an injury. Do you have a fire extinguisher handy at your house so the fire fighters have one to use when they get there? Why should a defensive gun be any different? A gun is nothing more than a tool just like a first aid kit or a fire extinguisher. It has no consciousness. It does not make a good person go bad. http://mwkworks.com/onsheepwolvesandsheepdogs.html You can choose to be a sheep. But as a sheep you are beyond foolish to defang the sheepdog because you'll never be able to do the same to the wolf. But I guess in some ways you could be right if a lot of the sheep had their way. If guns were illegal, you could more easily spot the bad guys, they'd be the only ones with the guns. A criminal has already made the decision to break the law, do you think that guns being illegal will keep them from having them? It hasn't stopped the criminals in places like DC and NYC where guns are currently illegal. The only thing it has done it to give the crooks the piece of mind that they don't have to worry about an armed citizen standing up to them. very well said, and quoted for truth. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

stock piling ammo now as we speak, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

teh pf9 has been out a bit, and i haven't seen a bad review. i'll look some up later. it's basicly a scaled down p11 from what i understand, and yeah, it's a single stack. again, IMO, a far better choice for someone just getting into shooting and carrying. the p3at is jsut too small, too hard to handle and not the right caliber for a primary gun. i agree though, the p3at is great when dress requires (or state laws, lol) a smaller weapon. i've carried my p3at to work many times, had cops pull me over and talk to me, and walked into several stores and noone is any the wiser. it's a niche gun, but it doesn't belong in the hands of a beginner, not for carry. sebasto..words like that will get you banned, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yes, but the majority of people don't know the difference. Don't sell your BPX, you will regret it. Still heading in the Fusion direction? hush you. he's already considering keeping it, don't encourage such bad behavior!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

can a 3d modeling machine make me a 6ft blonde, bisexual and rich female with similiar female friend who crave to be with a 30something, tattoo'd biker? they have to want to throw money at me as well, and i'd prefer both to be 36c (or d),26,36. can they do that? i'll pay. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

all of it? like a certain crown amp that would be totally pimp in the mini?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

take the glass pack off, and go with a true performance muffler. i'd wager you don't have enough backpressure, causing a drop in mileage. samething (sorta) happened with my road king. took teh baffles out, alor more vroom and noise. but gas mileage dropped from 40 to around 30-32. put the baffles back in, i'm back up to 40. and it's an injected bike with intake work and aftermarket slipons (mufflers). wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I've noticed that as well. The northeast is quite lacking. water. the water is better, makes a better beer. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, the p3at si a purely defensive weapon. kinda why it's so small, so compact and cheap. it's a backup to a primary gun. polish the whole outside, to aide in reliability? so i guess the slide is just hanging up on all those machineing marks, correct? oh, and point out where you said how to in your previous post. and match grade barrels are more then just polished i'm afraid. but again, the OP is a gun newb, why recommend something that takes tweaking to make right? you think a gun that is fairly unreliable in untrained hands is always going to end up being carried by this same person? the frustration of many FTEs and FTFs won't make him want to stop shooting it? please explain how. and just how is he going to know the proper grip it to prevent those faliures? how is he even going to recgonize that it's his grip causing most of those failures? you can polish till the ramp and barrel are bright enough to shave in, still doesn't fix the grip and the failures caused by a bad one. and let's not talk about accuracy due to a bad grip. i never said you didn't know anything about firearms, i said that your opinion on the keltec being a perfect choice for a primary carry gun for a newb is wrong. and it is. and yes, i reload. so? not for everything, but then again, i'm not shooting for sub moa groups. but i'll gladly meet you at the range and we can bang plates all day. you might even be a better shot, i know for sure ryan2 is. but i'll still waste brass with him any day. you as well. this isn't personal. it's about bad advice, period. oh, if you want to recommend a keltec, why not the pf9? single stack 9mm, would be great for a primary cc gun. or the p11? both are far better for a newb, have shown better reliability and offer more firepower for the same money. and i'll wager that by having larger grip frames, they'll be easier to shoot, not too mention more fun as there should be less failures. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what makes you think i have no idea how a motor functions. the wonders of SSA... if someone ask a question about something THEY MUST HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT ANY INS AND OUTS> without trying to be an ass, he's basing his statement on your original question. just how do you think a regulator will aide in mpg? it's sole purpose is to make sure your carb/ efi is getting proper fuel pressure to run right, it honestly has nothing to do with the mpg your car gets. after a carb rebuild, if mpg still isn't where you want it, raise the rear gear. drop a 3.02 or something back there. acceleration with be pathetic, but even that will aide in overall mpg. and don't drive the car intown. highway only. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

lol, nice. i paid $500 for my 73cb. but with gas being what it is, 2-2.5 times what you paid isn't out of the park. if it's in good shape, and with only 8k on the odo, it should be, lol. keep looking matt, something will pop up. a bonnie or a bsa isn't an easy grab any time. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

whoa, slow down. i don't even know where to start. but i'll say again, the p3at is no weapon for a beginner. and the best carry for price? not even close. what good will it do him if after he misses with the first shot, and i'll wager most will with the p3at, it's jammed because of a FTE? throw it at the person? he'll limp wrist it. most, if not all newbs to the gun will. even keltec will tell you that teh p3at is a BACKUP, not a primary. and it's not designed for 15yds, or 7yds, but more like 7ft. polish the whole barrel? and just how in the hell am i supposed to do that? you polish the feed ramp, you can even take a lil aoff around the breech to aid in extraction/loading, but only if you know what the hell you are doing. get a washer for the recoil spring. that might help a bit in accuracy. but polish the whole barrel? what, the outside? and that does what? and for a total newb, nothing beats a simple as hell snub nose DAO revolver. something along the lines of a ruger sp101, with a spur hammer in 327 magnum. holds 6 and is stronger the .380. (similiar performance to the 357mag.) and around $350-400. one can even grab a rossi .357 snub for right at the cost of a keltec, and it needs no work to be reliable. so just where does this $1k price tag come in? i've only paid that much for one gun and i sure as hell don't carry my 6" 1961 vintage python. you want to bet your life on the keltec as a primary, that's fine. on occasion, in my fine state, i have to do the same. it's a great pocket gun, of that there is no doubt. but it's still just a backup, and it's sure as hell not intended for a beginner. regardless of price. it's your opinion, and i have no problem with that. but in this case, and yeah, i'm being an ass, your opinion is just flat wrong. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I love blockquotes He says a lot's been replaced in the last 1000mi, runs smooth, but is asking $1850 Which seems really steep for a Honda built in 1973, no matter what the condition is...I've got $900 free and clear right now, $1200 seems like a doable offer in a couple weeks.$1850 is a bit steep. he's banking on people wanting the better fuel mileage. $1200 sounds like a good offer, but $900 is roughly half his asking, and that's where i always start. good luck with that jim, that is a good bike to start on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm going tomorrow to check out an '81 CB750 custom that the owner is willing to come down to my price...I guess I'll hear it first-hand to see how it runs (owner says it runs very well, and from the pictures I've seen does look extremely clean), but are there any tips for looking one over to be more sure of what I'm getting? Any places they like to leak, etc...where there are no fairings I'd imagine it's pretty hard or impossible to tell if it's ever been dropped over... Thanks for the input so far. It's been a big help to kinda know I'm on the right track here if it's been laid over, places to look are the pegs. for whatever reason, they'll replace levers, grips and panels, but hardly ever the pegs. look at the side/bottoms of them. you'll know. look at mirrors, or lack of too, that'll be a tell tale sign. if there are spots for mirrors, but none are there, it's probably kissed the pavement. and any outside bolt heads. axle bolts etc. turnsignals. anything that sticks out, look at. leaks? obvious spots. look under the frame, look at all side cases. it's air cooled, so that eliminates one protential problem, lol. look at the chain and where it's at on the adjustment. look at the rear sprocket. look for any signs of wear, and ask when the chain was last replaced. unless it's at the rear of the adjusters, then you'll want to be haggling a bit on the price. a bike really is no different then a car when giving it a once over for purchase. don't be afraid to nitpick on an older scoot like this, unless it is immaculate and he has service records. chances are, you'll be replacing something not long after purchase. sean, if yours is in really good shape, that $1850 range would be a good ball park. i'd ask $2k obo. $2.2k with fairing, probably. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
