    RL-S 15

why? i think the pair of rl-s would be easier on a vehicle. three 15's < 2 15's in weight.... 3 15's< 2 15's in enclosure size 3 15's < 2 15's in power needed (at least what he's suggesting) 3 15's < 2 15's in draw on vehicle (see above) 3 15's > 2 15's in overall spl (more cone, more power) that's just using what the original poster is suggesting. i just can't see how the three XXX would be a better choice unless he's going for all out spl. and for those who say the rl-s has to have a huge box, i beg to differ. 2.5ft^3 for a 12 isn't huge. it doesn't need a crap ton of power either. 1200wrms isn't alot. and a 136 legal with a deck that attenuates bass as you turn it up (factory gm bose) verifies that. i say the pair of rl-s's.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

nice work so far!! really nice to see someone taking thee time to do ti right... but don't you think that it's a bit overkill?? in some cases (unless you are running an extreme class or something), too much deadning can actually hurt your score. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

definitely sounds solid! 900wrms per 15 should wang like mad! in reality though, you'll only need about 3-3.5 cubes per sub NET. so you have plenty of room. has to changeable ports, there are a few guys here who have built them, usually involving one sliding inside the other and bieng bolted down using t-nuts. for the sq side, i'd suggest tuning in the 32hz range, maybe a bit lower with 35-40in^2 of port per sub. for all out spl, double the port area and tune about 45hz(but i'd test to make sure). IME, both of my full si\ze xcab trucks peaked in the 52-55hz range. (one dodge, one chevy) hope that helps a bit! and good luck and don't forget wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    1971 impala build

quick update here...no pics, sorry! those will be tomorrow, we should be finished. anyway, today we fired up that bandpass box with an memphis 250d. with all of 250wrms going to that 15" treo ss you'd think there was a pair of 15's back there with about 1000wrms!! yep, that loud! i think it's a bit weak on the low lows, but the owner absolutely loved it! he thinks (he's a crackhead) that it's as loud as his 96 imp ss with two 15" memphis mojo's in 4cubes each, each with their own 1500d. he's full of it...but it is loud! the kicker?? he's actually going to be powering the treo with an mtx 1501d, so about 5 times the power it got today. i can't wait to hear it then!! the absolute best?? there's no need to deaden the trunk at all!! very minimal, i mean almost none, vibration in the back. and that's with all the trim pieces just sitting in there!! anyway, enough patting myself on the back, i've got one more piece to make tomorrow and it's carpet time!! pics tomorrow!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    rl-p 12 best box ever

4 cubes tuned to 45hz.... falk, i dunno...lol....mines in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 32hz at 4ohm off my orion 2500d in the wife's trailblazer, and it's plenty loud!! i'd honestly say, like haydenlake in your other thread, try a horn or a transmission line!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    looking for a lightweight sub

i imagine the rl-i 10 will be pushing the weight limit, but is an awesome choice. what kind of power is he looking at? if it's under 350wrms, i'd suggest a memphis pr10. and don't let the looks fool ya, it's an awesome "entry" level driver. over 350, then i'd sacrifice a lil weight and get the rl-i...or maybe a memphis m3. check into powerbass here. they have a nice entry level line of subs that might just work! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
