    12 RE SE VS 12 RL-p

I think you have thoes backwards. Because if the Rl-p is in the running leauges with the SE as far as output, then my preception that it's runner up competition for the old brahmas and XXX's and Avalanches as far as output is off. SE is loud, dont get me wrong, thoes drivers are just louder. Also, SE's are very clean, compareable to my avalanche. which is XBL equipted so there for is must rule all nope. the rl-p is one clean ass sounding, get loud sumbitch! h2h with an old xxx, both ported and sealed, it sounded better then the xxx while running with it for output. overall, the xxx was the one with the potential to get louder due to the fact it will handle more power, but as far as sq goes, easily the rl-p. as my wife put it, " the rl-p shakes the car to death and still hits you in the chest. the other one (xxx) gets loud, and that's it. it doesn't shake the car at all." same amp, same box, same power. nah, the rl-p is just one of those "everything came together real nice" type of packages...lol.... don't forget to toss in mike, and you have the complete package. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

RE isn't too damn far behind either, especially with the new XXX. i miss the days of the old school solo's, the stamped steel baskets and 100 ounce motors were heavy...lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Eclipse SW-8200

Pretty sure that when DC resistance was taken they wired the coils in series to get that rating which would mean DC resistance of the 2ohm coils are 1.2-1.3ohm but i could be wrong. Anyway, i'd like to know how efficent the SW8200's are if they do feature LMT because if it takes 3kw to make them happy like some other LMT drivers, i dont really see the point. why does everybody think it takes 3kw to make a LMS (not T anymore) happy? 1200 on the rl-s 12 moved it just fine... wired to the 4ohm or so load and it did damn near a 140 in that box, off that power, with a factory gm h/u. will they do better in the larger enclosure of more power? after watching a few vids, probably. but do they honestly need them? not in my opinion. besides, in smaller enclosures you can always throw more power at them anyway...lol...muhahahahah wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    The GOAT

the guage cluster is a damn near match for an escalades, as far as look/color w lights off goes. not layout. we did a nice install on an 2004 goat, blue. he's got a ram air hood (fuctional), k&n cold air kit, custom exhaust and was waiting to buy the programmer at the time. i'm sure by now that's been resolved. it does indeed have a wicked exhaust note. when installing a system in a goat, due to the gas tank, instead of putting you sub in trunk, try just under the b pillar. there is a shit ton of room there once you remove the factory speaker. you can even keep it under the plastic and use mdf. we did. jim's goat has got a mc1300 (big belle) powering two pairs of memphis sq componets and a pair of mclass 8's in those quarters. you don't even know the 8's are there, until he turns it on...lol... nice car btw. sorry for the rant. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    CRAP!!!

run the yellow top at the minimum, but try to get a blue top in there. the red isn't deep cycle. trust me, lol. while my red top is a great battery, when it comes to really pulling amps, it sucks. what truck? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

what year? i owned a 1975 cb750k4...first year of the 4 carbs IIRC. of course it got slightly modded and could spit the 1/8 in about 8-8.5 seconds @ 85mph. not hte quickest, but i was still tuning on it when i decided i didn't like the look anymore...lol...i could run with all the new rockets except the big boys (1000cc or bigger). it was neat. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

WHAT????? actually, i traded a rice cruiser in on the train. and the dealership sends them off to an affiliate dealership, they don't keep them on site. but at this stage, i'd roll a crotchrocket again just to be riding... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

we actually talked about that, but the dealership isn't set up for it. they are in the organizing phase of actually renting harleys, but unbtil them, i's assedout. hell, i'd take a sporty jsut to have something to ride. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Automotive Slang/Jargon

in illinois, you have to double clutch to pass the CDL test, and they watch for it! and you have to double clutch whether upshifting or downshifting. you also have to downshift twice before each stop. double clutching in older trucks is real work, some newer ones, not too bad. but it's a crap ton easier to "slipshift" (matching revs and not using the clutch) then it is to DC. waterbox= spot to get the tires wet before a burnout at a dragstrip tree= the starting lights nomansland= the end of the dragstrip where it's all brakes and prayers. and if your prayers aren't answered... sandbox= where you go after nomansland trailered= where you go after losing at the strip puckertime= that moment before you know something bad or on the edge is about to happen whiteknuckle= gripping the steering wheel extremely tight, usually associated with puckertime holeshot= leaving the starting line first, usually by quite a bit hole= starting line wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

sup? i have a freaking summer chest cold and it's driving me nutz!! it's been low 80's here the last week and i can't enjoy it. all i do is cough and hack up phlem (spl?). it's getting really old. to top that off (this is where i get the king of pwned title), my scoot still isn't fixed. 70 year old lady owns me, causes wreck. 3 weeks for just an estimate owns me. bent frame owns me. not wanting to wait 6 weeks for basic vivid black tins owns me, so i lose my barbed wire paint. (would have been two weeks longer AFTER getting bike back to get that done). constant great riding weather owns me while bike is in shop. all my bro's are riding everyday, some even ride by the house and torment me. all of this since february 20th. going on 8 weeks, monday the 17th will make it 8 weeks. go ahead and hand me my crown. right now the only thing going for me is a couple of sweet installs done (at least IMO). wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. what denim said. there is alot of amplifier experience on this board and a few companies who make them. so it's natural for the board to wanna lean towards those companies. but bias? not here. closest things to bandwagons here are SI and SS, and even then other subs get recommended right along side of those. but the simple truth remains, you should take all advice given, throw away half of it and take the rest with a grain of salt. for while our ears and experience tell us one thing, yours will tell you something else. we can guide you, but you have to do the walking. leaning towards RF, nice. either great the old punch stuff or the very new stuff, stay away from everything inbetween (i've got a blown 800.2 in my garge. $12 worth of parts will fix it, but because of RF's board design my guy can't fix it. so $150 or so to fix it? nah. it'll be a paper weight.) but that's my experience and what i get from some serious competitors. i work with a world champion everyday damn near. my choice? memphis first. but they are outa your price range new, unless you go ebay and then you get no warranty. orion is a great choice. i absolutely love my 2500d. hifonics is a nice choice. the nemesis that usually pushes the rl-p has been flawless except for the name not glowing, which i care little about. ma audio. wow, big power, but big current draw. kinda reminds me of jbl in that sense. more advice? listen first. not just to us, but to the producets if you can. go to stores, playwith the amps. look at features. weigh what you read with what you hear. can't hear the amp you want? don't just research these boards, look into the crapton of sites that are strictly for reviews. google the amp your after, your sure to find a review site in the results. look up termpro and see what the competitors are using. that's always a good indication, but beware. some of those guys run modded amps or more then 14 volts. all in all, this is one of the trickiest parts of car audio.alot of good technology out there, but budget is going to limit one to just what he/she can get. and, IMO, here (amps) more then anywhere, you truely get what you pay for. good luck and keep us up to date! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Dash kit...

usually won't fit that way. in 99% of all kits the radio goes above the pocket. now the resource ful can reverse them, but i've seen times where fitment became an issue. somtimes with the radio on bottom it hits something inside the dash or the trim doesn't fit. but hey, give it a whirl, it's not like dash kits are expensive anyway. if you mess one up, you can replace it way too easily. and don't forget... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
