    Welcome to the IHoP

got decent news yesterday.. teh harley place got my frame in!! so work can start on getting the scooter back. still no timeframe as to when i'll get her, but at least there will be progress. it's been 8 weeks and two days since i dropped her off. 58 days of watching other people ride. two months of listening to other scoots roaring down the road. 1392 hours of whining that i want to ride!!! i don't know who will be happier, the wife or me. i'm sure she'll be glad to hear the ripsaws instead of my mouth...lol..i know i will!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I Think My SQ will be improving

for the NF preouts that might be correct, i never tested them. but it clips at 69 (nice number,eh?) if you use the highlevel outputs. 1kz tone, no scope. but you could hear the difference..lol.... what i did, since i didn't amp my highs, turned up the volume to 68 (just before it would clip the highs), turned the NF up to 16 and then set my amplifier. if he amps the highs and uses the preouts for the front and rear, i don't have any idea where it will clip. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    dd vs. new re

i beg to differ. a square cone can sound just as good, if not better then any round sub. it's all about the install. but squares get loud so easily, people forget and most don't even worry about sounding good. they throw them in big ported box and let them wang. the new xxx 18 against the solo x 18? i'd like to see that. the added throw of the xxx would help offset the cone advantage of the s18x. it would be a fun one to play around with. and after my experience with the old skool xxx, i won't believe any hype about the new one till i hear it for myself. teh rl-s 15 would be an awesome choice. and imagine an rl-s 18? OMG, that would be the bomb! 18's FTW!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    SX vs L7

yet the rl-p's do indeed get loud. they would be an awesome choice, if you are geared more at the sq side. i don't believe they will hang with the L7 or sx for overall output, but they will be close and they will sound better in just about any install. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

welcome boom!! and i'm with ramos....i get tired at looking at aaron's naked body all the time. can we use someone else? what about boom? kinda use him in like an orientation? and two goats!!! we never get to sacrifice two goats with aaron!! again, welcome to the forum bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. memphis and crossfire = same amplifiers? which memphis against the merlin? i'd love to be able to do that. i can get just about any memphis amp i want, so which is compareable? maybe i'm in the mood to change. i haven't used an US Amp since my us-50. but i've never had an issue with any memphis amp either. i've ran pr's to the mclass and had nothing but good power and good luck with them. yet i know the quality of US, so this is an interesting subject. can't wait to read more! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. the shop i work at carries both clarion and panasonic, as well as sony. we tend to have more problems withthe upper end screens then we do with the lower level units. that said, i'd use panasonic and sony over clarion in that price range as you get more features for your money. as you move up the model lines, it evens out. i also second what ryan mentioned. and a clarion will once again find it's way into my truck. the dmx955mc ( i believe that's the model number) will have a home in my silverado within a week. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    RLs-15's for HT, and music

WELCOME!! and but your ht sounds like an earthquake waiting to happen!! sweet! i'm drooling all over the keyboard thinking about an 4800wrms dual 15" rl-s ht sub stage! my god!! you are my hero!! but seriously, we need pics and a review!!! glad to see ya aboard the soundsplinter team! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    dd vs. new re

your right, a pair of 15" L7's would be a great choice. but even they can't hang with a solo x. though they stand a better chance then some. the added cone area is a wonderful thing. it is amazing how low the solo's can drop..lol..even the 10's get silly down low. 18's FTW!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. mrray13

    SX vs L7

absolutely..night and freakin day difference from the 05's. kicker did their research with these new monsters...so much so that 4 8" L7's are destined to find their way under the back seat of my silverado. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. most two channel amps AREN'T 2 ohm mono stable. 98.9% of them are rated for 4 ohm mono. but you seriously need to look into a nice strong mono block that's 2 ohm stable. memphis mc1500d comes to mind. talk to flakko here about us amps. look into zed and powerbass as well. all have products capable of gettign you where you want to go. since you rewired, has the problem gone away? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    SX vs L7

cone size goes to the L7, and if it's an 06 version, it's power handling is alot better then before. the sx can handle gobs of power and can move quite a bit of air itself. as far as sq goes, that's up to your ears. L7's can be clean woofers, but can be tricky to get that way. they can go boom with the best of them though. i've not heard an sx, so i can't really comment. but i'd wager they will both make you death fairly easiy, given the right enviroment. iflip a coin, lol. and go by your gut. i don't think you'll be disappointed with either. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    dd vs. new re

ummm..u haven't heard a good install my friend. and squares don't crack in the corners either from my experience, but they will seperate under the cone, where the support meets the cone, under extreme power, say like 2-3x it's rms. and even then, it's a very simple fix. solo x's have an extreme amount of potential, you just have to put them in the right enviroment. will a typical solo x install beat a treo install in sq? more then likely, no. but will a solo x drop lower then a treo? you beat your ass they will. and, a solo x can indeed be a fairly clean and accurate sub. i've owned treo ss subs myself, i know their potential. i loved them to death, well, until i sold them to tirefryr. but to be honest, i'd run s12x's over ss 15's or even ssx, csx 15's anyday. 18's FTW!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

damn tom..lol...that place looks like heaven! vladd...rl-p FTW. and it'll compete with any xbl^2 for SQ and low distortion. and IME, will go deeper. but i've never played with ava's..just an xxx... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
