here it is. after about an hour we located the problem. teh starter wire had laid up next to the long tube tri-y headers and melted, causing it to short out. here's a car made by an audio shop, pretty good install, some clearance issues, looked over by several mechanics, and all that is wrong with it was the starter wire...lol....oh well...we got paid for the repaires.. enjoy the pics.... one the sexiest amps of all time and there ya have it. the best part of this car, other then the crown, is the airbrushed chrome trim. it's absolutely beautiful. but there are some issues with the car. one airline leaks a bit, there is some rust starting to bubble up under the black just at the bottom of the rear window, the dash has to chips that were touched up poorly, the aforementioned clearance problems and the doors sag enough that the airbrushed trim doesn't line up anymore. the owner thinks this car will bring $80k at barret-jackson. when some people dream, they dream big!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

it's raining here... added a couple more pics in the box thread.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

thanks tom. i don't think i'll ever get to build just a regular box..lol. even the box in the jag isn't just rectangular. it's got a sloped bottom to fit the trunk floor and keep it level up top. that meant the port had to be custom too. souldn't just run it down the side and bottom, noooooo, i had to make it's own "bottom"...lol... here's a box i did thrusday as well. as basic as it gets for me. 2.7ft^3 tuned to 35hz for a 12w7. this shows the four corner braces around the sub and the brace just off to the left is for the back of the enclosure. off to the right is part of the port. i did a labrynth port so i could use it's walls as bracing as well..... the "stop sign" mounting baffle. we wanted a double baffle for the sub, but didn't want to extend it the whole face of the box. so i did a stop sign. the customer loved it..we got a good chuckle from it. sounded good and deep. but hte 800wrms he was thowing at it didn't do the sub justice. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
with the bracing and considering the subs and power, it's more then enough. i can literally jump up and down on the box and i'm 215pds. would i trust it for an extended period(me jumping on it)? no, but for it's intended prupose, it's more then strong enough. and ports..lol..there is one on each end... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah, i dont understand why they have the ratings on their site like that, it is really confusing im sure that amp was much better suited to the situation than the PA true and yep..lol i'll get pics of the mc1500d and it's lil amp rack... someday. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

here is one ongoing install.... started with a pair of planet audio amps, the sub amp (notpictured yet) has been replaced with an mc1500d, the high end is still covered by planet audio. has 6, yep 6 kicker ds 3.5 speakers, all in factory locations. that includes a pair UNDER the rear seat! started with a pair of treo tsx 10's in a small sealed box. moved to memphis pr 15's sealed and now is running a massive audio in a 3.75ft^3 ported affair. it's tuned to 35hz. the massive will probably be replaced with a mojo soon, as will the remaining planet audio with a 2004. nothing fancy, just the basic wedge bottomed box. it does get loud though..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

time to roam a bit... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

not all that stealthy..lol.. but pics are up. i didn't finish the box as the truck wasn't there thrusday. they installed it yesterday, or was supposed too. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

built a box thrusday for a real idiot. he bought a brand new dodge dakota extended cab, with no backseat. he has three kids. he also has a pair of memphis pr 10's and a 500d. so, he had us build a box that would hold the tens and the amp, fire the ports and tens down, protecting them from his kids, and alos mounting the amp on the bottom, to protect it as well. it had to be strong enough for his kids to sit on. no seat belts back there. have no clue how they actually mounted it to the truck (was done friday, i took the last two days off) this guy is so anal, when he pulled his last box out his xcab s10, he threw a fit because we didn't carpet all the way around. there was a strecth about 4" wide thru the center back of the box (the part you'd never see unless you uninstalled it). anyway...i thought i'd throw a few pics of the box up. anyone interested?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
