Death Penalty 21 in a Silverado

bs. a single layer of quality deadner will fix your roof. i had an 18" solox in my 04 silverado xcab off 4kwrms with a single layer of brown bread on the roof. very little, if any rattle, compared to what your is doing. you have to put deadner on both sections over the driver and passanger and over the entire rear passanger area. mine wasn't the only one i had to work on either. i've done countless xcab silverado installs, and each one got a layer of deadner. and yeah, maybe it isn't completely stopped, but it's shit tons better then what you have. so buy 12sq ft of deadner, that's what the roof needs. and fix that rattle, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Walling a Hyundai Hatch

from my understanding, multipule layers can restrict, or stop, box resonation. which is what it's intended purpose is. however, if the box resonates at or near peak frequency, you are hurting your score. at least that's my understanding. i've seen scores drop quite a bit by adding a second layer, or adding in a brace. but i've also seen it go the other direction as well. the only sure way to know is to test. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

port to the trunk or cab

if this is just a street beater, do whatever is easiest. a pair of 15s ported in a car should rattle everything, and one isn't going to notice a sound difference in which direction it's ported. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Sub question...

a ported 12 in the right box will compete with a 15 sealed in the right box, if not beat it. box size will be similiar too, ported 12 compared to sealed 15, so saving room between the two is going to be really close. the sealed 15 should hav ethe edge in dropping down low and flattest response, but the ported 12 should hold the edge on a mic. this assumes similiar model subs and optimum boxes. and is purely speculation based upon previous experience. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

we didn't get a picture of it, thank god we weren't that drunk, but at the lil shawneetown rally last weekend we saw a dude with a back mowhawk. no shit, we thought it was a tattoo at first. but he shaved his back hair into a mowhawk. was bald on his head, and i didn't bother to walk around front. was laughing entirely way too hard to move. beer found it's way through my nose. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

port to the trunk or cab

the loudest trunk car i ever built was a pair of s10xes and a ma audio hk4000d. subs and ports were side fired, one each to each side, of the trunk rear corners. in a 99 maxima. damn thing was stupid loud, no other trunk car we did compared. dunno if you can wedge the 15s to fire that way, but it's worth looking into. the final answer is each car is different, but most trunks seem to sound louder when the port is fired rearward. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Icon 15 possable problem

the icon and rl-p are very similiar in power handling. i given both 1100wrms plus with no issues. and some coil/glue smell is normal early on, but should go away, if everything is set up properly. and remeber folks, just because they can handle more power then rated, doesn't mean they need it. at some point everything has a point of diminishing returns, and excess power is wasted as heat. and eventually damage. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
