i don't think the mag is all that more of a sub then the rl-p. i've listened to both..and personally, i think it's more of a brand choice. sq is neck and neck. spl might be the deciding factor. h2h, i couldn't tell you which will get louder. i think the mag will have an advantage there. budget, the rl-p walks the mag. so what you get is this.. sq= pretty much a dead heat. spl= edge to the mag, but that's opinion cost=rl-p box requirements= i think the rl-p is a bit more user friendly. to say one is on the next level compared to the other one is an overstatement IMO. these two subs are really close to each other. real close. the rl-s takes it to another level. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

your first guess has to a mismarked terminal is probably the case. it happens quite a bit. whenever i install subs i always check polarity with a "speaker popper". (9 volt battry with speaker wire leads) . one more then one occasion i had happen to me exactly what you're talking about. wire everything up, double check it. no output. change polarity..BOOM! it happens bro. glad it's fixed!!! so now your getting output, how about a short review? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the alpine is a bear to get to work while driving. you either have to buy an interface, sold seperately, or do a dance with a momentary switch and a toggle switch. we carry the pioneer avic unit (have on in stock, lol), the clarion (which is the best of our group), the panasonic and concept. i ran the 5" concept for a few weeks. nice lil unit. more gimicks then it needs, but comes with more adapters then any source i've seen. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
ok...no 4x6's.lol...you guys win. actually, probably wouldn't be hard to drop a 5.25 back there to be honest. that sound good? ryan..retail on the ss's was $999.99. the ones i'm getting are a year old and used two weeks. they were traded back in when the guy traded his truck. anyway, i can get ya my price today and let ya know. it won't be $1k, that's for sure..lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

speaking of excessive speed, our salesman at the shop owns a modded 240sx. he challenged me to a drag race. loser pays for lunch. his 240, my scoot. i'm honest. tell him it's bored, cammed, jetted and pretty much gonna slap him silly. oh, his 240 is strong, 200rwhp. ok. we line em up. i'm fair. i tell him to count it down. he counts down from 3. i actually wait for him to launch, then i hammer his ass to the road. by second gear, 4 car lengths. easy. i rode on a bit jsut for good measure. lunch was gooooooood!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

amen. i can't keep it below 75 most of the time..lol... when your riding, you tone everything out. the wind, the road, the cars..your cruising. because you and the bike move together, you just slip into a natural state of comfortable. on my scoot, that's right around 75-80mph for cruising. everything flows. next thing you know, your there...lol..and wishing you'd slow down so it would take longer. and you catch those straights....you can't do 55, but sure enough, there's three cars who can. you grab a gear, roll the twisty thing, and next thing you know...100+mph. and it takes a bit to slow down too...it's too much fun! i regularly get 120 on the scoot, she good for a few more, but that's all the speedo reads. when i had my katana (smooth bores, vaneand hines, extra tooth, ported and polished) the best i got was 155mph. by speedo. probably closer to 135 actual. anything over 100 usually guarantees the morgue. so you don't sweat it. your not going to feel it anyway. not for long anyway. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

not flat, but i have a pretty sic idea anywho!!! muhahahahaa wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

nate..for the $500, you could snag an rl-s 12, maybe a 15... that would be the ultimate combo of sql there bro! those things get nasty loud and sicking low!!! and you'd need only one for your car. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
just one... that would be a sick combo! sealed...1.25ft^3 ported..2ft^3 tuned to 34hz, 25in^2 of port minimum, or i fyou prefer the sick lowlows.....2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz, 35in^2 of port. that second ported box is shaking the trailblazer to death with it's rl-p..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i second the memphis syncs, or if you can get them, the sq's. the silk tweeters with the sq's are just awesome. teh rainbow's are a great suggestion, as are the cdt's. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

rl-p's will get loud, as many here will tell ya. there are even numbers posted. true, it's sq oriented, but a nice side effect of it's build, it gets loud sounding good!! the L7's would be a good choice! and how is the IA and SonicFX motor different from the mag/ rl-p? they are tc9 motor's...and i thought all of them were the same. only difference in the subs would be soft parts, coil material and length. maybe i'm wrong, but i've never read on tcsounds site where you can get different motor strength tc9's. i thought that's why they had several different motors..ie; tc2, tc2hp, tc7, tc9 yada,yada,yada... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ok...got the rmb 8's and teh ss componets. still deciding upon size and number of subs, might end of with 4 8's sealed. also, amplification. dunno if i wanna run the 06 stuff, or some of the older stuff. only thing for certain is that there will be a 2500.1 on the subs. should i run 4x6's in my back doors? if i do, h/u power? i want to run the rmb's off the rear channel of whatever amp, with the ss's getting the front. ideas, suggestions? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
