Black chrome -- now that sounds like a nice suggestion. We are rather liking the idea of smco for the high end subwoofers due to its superior thermal stability and high strength... It is kind of pricey when compared against other magnet materials however its worth it if you ask me. The manufacturer didn't seem to have any problem with selling us some frames, I guess I will have to contact TC sounds to make sure they don't have any problems with this... If they do theres always another basket I can't ever remember seeing before that will support 52mm and looks about as sexy... It is even $1 less/each! haha... black chrome is the sexy!! the reason behind my eclipse remark is because of jlaine's uber woofer. 600 wrms os a rl-p will be perfect. could you go higher? yeah, but you won't need too..just build a nice ported box...3-3.5ft^3, 40-50in^2 of port, tuned about 30-32hz...equates to much fine wangage!! welcome to the forum bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the biggest difference in 1.5 @ 30 and 2 @ 30 is going to be the low end extension. the larger box will reinforce it a bit better. the larger box will also be more efficient, requireing less power. the smaller box should give ya more punch has the frequencies rise. and lastly, the larger box has the potential to be the louder of the two. with tuning that low, your not going to notice much of a difference between 28hz and 30....and, i'd shoot for the larger of the two boxes. IME, when you start tuning like that, small boxes just don't sound as good. also, once you start tuning that low, you might as well go sealed. a 1.25-1.35ft^3 sealed box would give close ot the low end of the 1.5 ported one, sound crisper and not lose a whole bunch of output.
