How to determine amplifier output
mrray13 replied to tejcurrent's topic in Technical Info & How To's
oops, lol. my bad. nice catch. since i don't have true rms meters, so after i get peak numbers, the equation will look like this, with x=peak number x*0.707 you know, for us idiots, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
looks good! nice, nice equipment. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How to determine amplifier output
mrray13 replied to tejcurrent's topic in Technical Info & How To's
1) yep 2) hook to speaker output 3)set to AC voltage, <200 4) clamp multimeter, get one 5) clamp multi meter over speaker wires 6) set clamp meter to amperage (can't remember exact symbol) 7) turn on system and read peak numbers. 8) multiply peak numbers together. hope that helps. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
hehe, thanks bro! i'm sorry, didn't mean to be pushy. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

got a new dog! pics later..gots quite a few i need to post. anyway, 3 months old, 22 pds, dual registered (abda and ukc) male pit bull terrier. he's white and blue, has traces of other colors (fawn, red) and is simply badass. his name is samson. he is the new house dog as magnum ( he's my baby!) and queenie have a reserved kennel and breeding to do outside. samson will be stud only and then to approved females, aka, similiar bloodlines/pedigree or no go! and with that.. i'm off to get him a collar, shells for the sks and saiga, and maybe lunch with the woman. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

electrical for 4 ma hk4000d's?
mrray13 replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
very possible. i've only heard stories from james of driving to a meet somewhere, first you hear greg's system behind you, then you hear the whine of the blower as it's rips your doors off. it would totally piss james off as he has a heavy foot, and greg's explorer would tear his mountaineer a new one very easily. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
i've not done the verbal thing, but i have tapped the cone and knocked on the box. we used to have an installer who swore he could tell the f3 of the enclosure by doing that, with sub installed. so we kinda do it as a joke/tribute to him, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

otis is a bit tall. anyway, pits have a natural aggression towards other dogs/ animals. they are actually bred to be very people friendly. it's the owner's who turn the natural aggression/confidence towards people, as pits want nothing more then to please their owner. also, all dogs have a natural want to hunt/ kill. it's a instilled trait from thousands of years before domestication. and even after. my akita has killed at least 12 cats, two squirrels, and one small deer. my 4 pit bulls have zero kills. just for comparison. however, in this case, letting your dogs run loose, regardless of breed, but especially critical if they are pits, is irresponsible. they will hunt and kill. the owner of those dogs isn't doing himself any favors by not responding either. take this with a grain of salt as this computer as no sound, so i didn't get to hear the story. i'll post pics of my dogs later. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Your favorite headunit of all time?
mrray13 replied to Mike Troll's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
my alpine cda 7894. didn't skip. easy to use, looked good. only one real complaint. the low preout voltage. my current radio is a close second. clarion dxz955mc. if it didn't skip when i'm throwin tones through the system, it would be my favorite. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
electrical for 4 ma hk4000d's?
mrray13 replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
james has a v6... and greg mccool will argue about explorers meant for being slow! james will verify this as well, lol. greg's explorer is a 155db LEGAL daily driver (no wall), has close to 500hp on the ground and flat out flies down the road! of course the supercharged cobra motor doesn't hurt, lol. i'll let ya know about the alternator later today. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
hey, for those of us who post more then required or for fellow mods, what do we get free? but for real..... how much for a 2xl shirt and a few stickers? i know i don't have any Fi equipment, yet, but i'd still support a group of guys who represent the industry as well as you guys do. anyway, let me know what i need to do. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

definitely run a strong 12 volt one as. stay around 220. matter of fact, james is selling his irragi i believe. he's not competing with his mountaineer anymore, so he really has no use for the alternator. i'll holler at him and see hwat he wants for it if your interested. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
strong and black. just like my women.... well, almost like my women hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

we thought about the c230 kompressor, but they are kinda small compared to some other cars in the price range. but if the price is right?? steve, aaron...i need help. i go to the gym and i'm lost. really have no clue what to do. i need a program to follow. i'm after slimming the waist and toning up. not worried about overall weight loss as my frame supports my 230 pds rather easily. ( i stood next to a friend tuesday night who weighs 215 pds. he's got at least 20" arms and a 28" waist. to look at us , same height, but he looks far heavier. he has that much muscle mass, and i outweigh him by 20 pds) i just want to move the weight to the right areas, chest, shoulders, back and legs. oh yeah, and arms, lol. tell me what to do?! btw, i've been starting and ending with cardio, roughly 10 minutes of treadmill before and 15 to 25 minutes after. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i'm just south of carbondale. i work in caterville. no rl-i 8 installed, but it would only take a minute to remedy that. i have no clue where hamel is. hit me up sometime. i'm off every sunday and monday, and more if needed, lol. as to box building. i'm with vladd. nothing more satisfying then doing it yourself. but if time, tools don't allow, i'm all ears, lol. oh yeah, check out soundsplinter.com for all the rl-i8 info you need! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

electrical for 4 ma hk4000d's?
mrray13 replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if your set on going 16volt, and you can get the turbo's that cheap..go that route. and get all you can. if you stay 12, get the blues, g31, and get as many as you can afford. at least one per amp, one under the hood. and don't forget th dual alternators! no joking. if you go 16, one 12 for the car, one 16 strictly for the system. if you stay 12, dual 200-220 (anything bigger and you'll have to be at 3krpm to see any difference) for the entire setup. and even airbags have a limit. even if you never approach theirs, you can exceed the axle's limits. don't forget that. the bags are only part of the suspension. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
That's great. I guess you have every song you ever want to listen to on CD then? A good SAT install will sound just as good as an MP3. A CD will sound better than either. If you can tell the difference going down the road, the problem is with your install, not the SAT broadcast. Umm. No. There are crap loads of people that have the same opinion as myself. Its plain and simple....they use very crappy compression methods. I had the acutall hard wired sirus tuner. And to say that it was as good as mp3.....well I'm not even going to comment on that. Lets just say SAT radio has its place. But the quality IMO just isnt there. i have to agree with puggsley. even with the add on tuners for the units we carry, so it's hardwired, no fm modulation, and the factory piece int he wife's TB, satellite radio just doesn't sound as good as cd or mp3 (when at a cd level or higher 128 +). to me it's not worth the extra money over free radio. especially when you consider they do indeed have commercials, even if they are just for themselves. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

electrical for 4 ma hk4000d's?
mrray13 replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
jim's pretty close actually. i'd actually recommend a blue top per 4000d, not too mention another one up front and a dual alternator setup. those things are current hungry, big time. they'll be more efficient at 16volts, but i'd still do a battery apiece. as to the other hk, i'm not for sure. i'm pretty sure the hk4000ds need modded for 16, so if the little one can handle it, it'll need modded as well. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeee
