    2008 Dodge Challenger

maybe that prototype type exhaust cost the camaro, or the hood treatment? who knows? but in every publication ever printed, no obra ever beat an LS1 powered ss in anything. the cobra would run with a z28, teh z28 would kill the gt, and the ss dominated all. maybe dominated is a strong word, but it's awfully close to what happened. now throw a few hundered bucks at the stang, and bam! your competeting. however, throw a few hundred at that LS1 in the form of spray and hold on to your pants! those things love that stuff!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeee

    Flared slot port.

lol..man i wish we had a cnc router when i worked for a sign company. if we did "routed" aluminum faces, we cut it out by jigsaw. my current employer, stereo shop, is considering sear's small cnc router for doing trim pieces and such. i, too, am wanting to do a laminated enclosure. but i don't have a router table, lol. it'll be all hand routered. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

steve, i know. and that's why i won't do it. besides the shrinking nuts ( i don't have much to start with), i've got an anger management issue as is. i really don't need something to gank that up any worse. sean..clarion dxz955mc. it can be ran several ways, most of which i'll never use. some basic highlites.... 24 bit D/A conversion 4 volt/6 ch output. music catcher, will store up to 80 songs AC processor IV: dolby pro logic II, time alignment, virtual space enhancer. 3 band parametric eq and adf compressed audio enhancer it's also got hpf/lpf filters, is sirius ready and when using in 2 way or 3 way mode, you have choice of 6, 12 or 18 db octave slopes on the xovers. anyway, look it up some and let me know if your interested.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and i'm not denying the LS1 camaro..reread my post. i say the 4th gen whoops ass...going so far as to say a cobra can't run with a z28, let alone a ss. but before that, it was a coin flip. heavier camaro with more hp going against a lighter mustang with similiar hp to weight, better driver usually won. brand meant dick. no, the vette sourced LS1 is a bad sumbitch, but in the case of the camaro, it was too little, too late. maybe this goaround, GM will have learned their lesson? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i'm no mustang guy, and tire will attest to that, but he speaks the truth. the camaro's only reason for existance is the mustang. and the mustang killed it in sales. and yeah, late 3rd gen, all 4th gen f bodies are badder then their mustang counterparts, no base cobra will stand up to a ss or ws6, but the mustang has always held it's own. and with the demise of the camaro, they really took off. teh aftermarket is jsut as strong for the mustang as it is for the f bodies, and due to the stangs lighter weight, there is quite of bit of potential to beat the fbodies at their own game. now, i'll admit i'm no camaro guy either, personally, i'm a vette guy. so there reallyisn't any bias in me at all, i dislike both pony cars equally. but one can't deny the potential in the mustang and it's heritage. the fact remains, it's the original and it's the best. if it wasn't, the camaro (by virtue of it's better performance in the last years) would of spelled the end of the mustang. but it didn't. didn't matter the z28 would whoop the cobra and the ss would kill anything with a pony on it. mustang won. plain and simple. and if you want to argue overall performance, IIRC, the quickest street legal car going is a fox body notch back. somethign like low 7's, high 6's on drag radials. that hurt to say, it really did, lol. now if only i knew if i had my mustang bought...$1500 for a 86 5.0 with basic boltons. how could i not buy it, lol??? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Flared slot port.

Looks, I guess. Doesn't look all that good to me either. http://fullrangedriver.com/gallery/display...um=4&pos=68 How to do curves right Neat stuff there! http://fullrangedriver.com/gallery/albums/...-2nd%20Pair.JPG the things i would give up/ do for that cnc router!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Flared slot port.

but that port isn't even flared 50%....more like 35%. he's only flaring one side of a four sided object, and that's not counting the rear of the port inside the box.. i don't see where there is really any gain at all, and flaring it like that on one side looks dorky. the center console was kinda neat though.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    BLs vs. DMX Stage 2

your tuned to 32hz, have 2.4 per driver and your not hitting the lows? just what lows are you aiming for? with 2k per driver on top of that?! i'd wager there is something other then subs causing your issue. did you remove any and all insulation between your trunk and cabin? ( i'm assuming this is in the caddy) how much port area? and just how much playing time? if a pair of 12's like the BLs aren't dropping low enough in that setup, i'm not for sure any 12 will. you might just need to step up to a 15 or two. maybe an 18. btw, got a link to the dmx? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. i'd wager that unless you added a bunch of epoxy and just whacked out the mass, you won't hear the difference. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    HEAD UNIT

same style kit though. and with the knobs, you can use it, and if you want aftermarket, you'll have too. but you'll have to remove some of your dash (part of the lip where the panel mounts), and your climate control knobs and associated pieces will have to be transferred to the kit. that's just the way ford works... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    2 RL-i8's in a Tahoe?

you'll love em. feed a pair between 750-1000wrms, (you can do less, they'll still be loud), and let em eat. i love my rl-i8, will probably be the first sub in my new to me mustang for awhile. shoot for around .75-1 cube each, tuned 36-38hz with 12-15in^2 of port. or talk pete (TTB) outa the hellboy, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. mrray13

    HEAD UNIT

what they said... does your taurus have the electronic climate controls? if so, you can't even use the kit. you'll have to fab one, or locate your radio elsewhere. the kits will fit okay, not exactly OEM fit, but close enough. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what do sponsors look for in a car??

no offense to sundown, but they aren't exactly mainstreme. landing a sponsorship with them is quite a bit easier then say kicker. so if one was to head towards a lesser known company, sure, sponsorship might be a bit easier to obtain. but try to land one with a big dog, you had better be known in the lanes. but i'll agree, if you aren't willing to drop coin, it isn't going to happen. they have to see that your willing to make as big as an effort as is needed to compete and win. and most sponsorships aren't freebies, but rather discounted prices. so regardless, you still have to have bank to get product in most cases, not all, but most. and i know one street a guy who has close to 2k in just wiring...lol...if he was to pay retail. but even with his sponsorships (kicker, cactus sounds), he's dropping alot of coin on amps, batteries and boxes. subs are holding up pretty good..lol...... hopefully, sundown will be a bigdog soon, as is Fi. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what do sponsors look for in a car??

what jim said..you have to be able and willing to drop money into the sport. compete and do well. they'll notice you. it's hard to do for most, some get lucky. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

my bass is the suxors....blah, blah... gym time last night was good...going again tonight. missed a night, making up for it tonight. then again tomorrow night..lol..and then some cardio over the weekend. good news is the weight is slowly coming off. when i started this mess, i was 235. scaled this morning at 227. 8 pds in just over two weeks. that's cool. and i'm noticing a bit of strength coming back. added some weight (5pds)to a few excercises last night and still finished the reps/sets. it's all good. making sure form is tops. now if the waist would just shrink a bit, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

lol @ ramos teasing sean...that's jsut wrong, lol...funny, but wrong. kinda.. and i'm officially 95% sure i bought the stang. i'll know sunday afternoon 100%, as that is when he plans on repossessing it. it's actually in better shape then my bro-in-laws 88, though nowhere near as stout. speaking of the 88, it's in my driveway...interior completely ripped out, lol. and yes, i have pictures, but not uploaded yet. it's getting memphis sq 6.5 up fornt, mclass 5x7s rear, off the sony gt500 deck. it's also getting a pair of first gen 15L7s in a ported box where the back seat used to live. those will be pushed by my old orion 2500d, with a stinger 1700 as a little current cushion. that will be located int eh spare tire well. why rip out hte interior? it's getting a new dash board as the old one had busted parts. it's also easier to run 1/0 thru the firewall with no dash in place, lol. and it's getting new carpet as well. starting to storm here, jsut got done in time. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Weight

i started my diet/excercise routine a few weeks ago... 235pds (in jsut the boxers) today, (after breakfast and wearing my denim shorts...hehe) 231pds. yesterday morning, no breakfast and in da boxers, 229pds. so yeah, it's working! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

man, i'm with ryan1..HS was about football, partying and T & A. nothing more, nothing less.....i feel dumb at times around here, lol. 2kchevy...you can be good at whatever you want, but you have to work at it. don't doubt yourself or sell yourself short. the human mind is a wonderful thing, full of surprises and ability. but you have to know your going to be good at it. whatever it is. tell yourself you can't, and you won't. tell yourself your going to kick it's ass and you'll knock it out. might not be easy, but if it was, it wouldn't be fun. and i think i commited the cardinal sin. i beilieve i just bought a ........*GASP........... mustang. it's an 86 IIRC, 5.0. basic boltons, headers, intake and exhaust. 5 spd. needs some interior work, a spot or two on the outside, but it was only $1500. but the sale is based on the repossession from the cop who commited to buy it but as yet to pay for it. i'll know for sure in the next few days. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

Camaro It's called Periodization and Principle of Progression/Overload ("progressive overload") ... lots of info out there on the topic. Tudor Bompa's book outlining periodization is great. In order to notice results you need to keep your body guessing. You've been out of weightlifting so your periodization scheme should be something similar to this: a few weeks of general anatomical adaptation, few weeks focussing on hypertrophy (muscle size), few weeks of strength training, couple weeks of power training. It's just typical cycle. Throw in drop sets, giant sets, endurance training, plyometrics and so on. Everyone needs to sit down and plan a full training scheme. I do one year at a time and divide my time into a few mesocycles, each with a specific goal in mind. Each mesocycle is divided into microcycles with specific exercises, training loads, mini-goals etc etc etc. Biggest mistake is people just jump right into heavy weights for few reps ... let your body adjust and adapt first, then move on towards and address your goal(s). There's a lot to setting up a quality program - I just did a strength program for someone and it took me a few days and wound up being something like 26 pages long, full of detail etc. If you're interested, I can send you a bunch of info via e-mail (send me your address) - I'll send you my lecture notes from the Theory of Strength Training course I taught. Noticeable results ... you're looking at around the two month mark. Want to see results? Perform good exercise and bust your ass. As a novice you'll notice results rather quickly and your adaptations will primarily be neural at the beginning. Supplements ... most are complete garbage. Protein and creatine are pretty much the two only 'proven' supplements that work. The NO is a good pre-workout boost to maximize your time spent in the gym. Good idea to cycle it as to not become either dependent on it, or have your body get used to it (subsequently need higher doses). "Losing the gut" will come through cardio and abdominal exercises, more importantly what happens in your kitchen. [email protected] and i'd really appreciate any info you can/want to give me. even a workout plan, including everything mentioned above. jsut tell me how much it'll cost and i'll try and get the money headed your way. we've really curbed the bad eating, alot of grilled chicken has found it's wayinto our diets, as well as fresh vegies and the occasional lean steak. ground turkey has replaced hamburger, and even eating out is done with regards to keeping it unfried and somewhat healthy. i'm in no way eating 100% correct, but the last couple of days watching calories has me consuming around 1800 a day with little to no sat fats. anyway, i appreciate the effort captain! and sean, i feel your pain about running. but hopefully, i'll be gaining on them soon!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
