hi all i have been planing a blowthru on my 01 tacoma using two fi q 18s and two soundstream trx2000ds. now i have come up with a few ideas for a box but was wondering if there were any pros out ther that would like to offer up some advice. i was thinking of having one sub on either side with a center slot port ond a combined volume of 22 cubes tuned to 28 hz. also i have heard pete from ttb has some great designs but he hasnt gotten back to me yet thanks

really can you ellaborate on that and thanks that couldve just saved me alot of trouble

hey thanks for the forum and other help and the only thing i wouldnt like about tunning it that low is that there arent many songs that actually reach that low. and im now thinking of tunning my box to 30 hz and using a bunch of port to hopefully get the numbers up

jw how many square inches of port do you think i should give it so it will fart loud but still have some good musical qaulities. and ive revised my thinking and am prob going to tune to 30 hz

thanks and whats the smd forum and also my truck has a tiny cab so i figured that i would have more gain down low than other cars and when you said to figure it out for my specific car how would i do that, trial and error?

never eevvvvvveeeeeeererrrrrrrrrrrrrr mount a sub directly into the side of your boat the fiberglass on a boat is designed to flex on an impact thats why its strong but the constant flexing in the form of vibration will soon leave you with a much bigger hole than intended

140 in moms jag 110 in the q 18 explorer ( hit the speed limiter) about 107 in the new tacoma(hit the speed limiter again though she had plenty left in her) and about 145 in a 07 rousch 427 mustang

hey thanks for the concern and i no thats alot of power and a big box for the q but i was pushing 2000 watts off a trx 2000 to one q 18 in an 11.5 cube box tuned to 27 hz and ran it for about four months and had no probs. the only reason why im not still running that setup is because the truck was totaled about three weeks ago so now iam stuck with a single cab truck. also i would use the bls or btls but ive still got the q 18 and trx 2000d. and thats verry similar to the design i was thinking of using. ohh and i have the bp power option on the sub

ooo gotcha i just remembered that theye wanted i think like $100 to recone a q 12 and do the bp but if you can do it that cheap thated save a ton

realy thanks good thing you told me that because it was tellin me to use a 800L box tuned to 16hz and using the re calc i came up with a box that was 9.5 or so cubes before displacement tuned to 27.6 hz. how would that sound in an 95 to 01 body style 4 door explorer?

hi all i recently purchased a fi q 18 to go in my 95 4 door explorer and now i need to come up with the plans for the box so i can start building. my maximum dimensions for the box are 40 wide by 40 deep by 22 high. i am a some what skill full carpenter but i need help in the tunning area. also if anyone has a similar setup to what i will have and still has the plans lying around i would greatly appreciate it or if someone could use or tell me where i can find a box calculator to spec out this box that would also be greatly appreciated. oh and lastly i am open to using a t line but would need the plans to build one. thanks
