hey all i just got metered at the florida spl/ db drag event in clear water and managed to hit a 133.6 on the TL with an fi x 12 and 350 watts. ooo and everyone should really experience mp3 pimps car first hand it is REDICULOUS!!!!!

i have actually been planing to do this myself for a while now but the box wont really matter much with that much cone area your bound to be hitting high 150s regardless of what box you put it in and who really needs to be louder than 158 or so on music. dont take me wrong the box is important but its gona be so loud neway :)f or mine i was personally planning a ported clamshell about 38 cubes without port after displacement tuned to 30 hz. also what amps are you gona run

Did you get any pics of it? Not a bad score at all for such little power. Bet it sounds great no didnt have the camera but mp3 pimp will vouch for me. and yeah it sounded pretty darn good for one inexspensive 12 i even had all of the car audio shops in my area guesing it was 2 12s or a 15 off like 1500 watts . also edmon with the crown vic with 2 ia dp 21s in it listened to it and was impressed and could back me up on the score.

Considering you want to work in the industry and you've been here as long as you have, you KNOW that "half gain" is NOT a valid setting. Also stating the crossover at 50 isn't very descriptive. Sounds to me also like you guys are walloping on that sub. Classic case where a BL might have been a better choice and that the setup could very well be at fault. i actually had my gains very conservatively set and never bottomed out nor over heated the sub. when i talked to scott he asked what equipment i was using in conjunction with it and what size box, what it was tunned to and what i had my subsonic set at and after the questions he said that it had nothing to do with me and was just a glueing issue. also i have had this same sub amp deck combo as i had when it blew up in my other truck and have been using it without problems for 4 and a half months now.

i had the same excat problem on my fi q 18 and that aluminum peice is added with the bp. from my understanding it diverts air and ads surface area to help cool. contact scott at fi hes a good guy and will get it taken care of for you. and btw mine hit my roof and then the back seat but made a loud pop and thud when it happend. an jw but when was this sub purchased?

hi all i am going to be competing for the first time and was wondering what class i should run. i am going to using my fi x 12 in a 6th order bp which is 3.5 cubes a chamber and will be pushing 200w rms to it. also i have a kicker zx 1500 that i just aquired and was thinking of using it at 8 oms on the x so that should roughly be about 375wto 400w rms but was wondering if they would make me run a higher class since that amp can put out 1500w even though i would have it putting out around 400 since it would be at 8 ohms

o gotcha yea even a regular ported box is going to be rediculosly hard to get 6 18s in their recommended air space. and if you want to blowthru like tht your going to be using either a fourth order or 6th order. im also in the midle of doing a blowthru in which im using 4 incriminator dp 21s but just have to ge some funds up before I can finnish it. and I've actually done the bkowthru but used a topper and went thru the back window and even with the topper am having a very hard time coming up with the airspace I need. if I were u id either go with a topper or if you don't like that look use a box like the one you posted up but with 4 18s

hate to be the one to tell you but you dont have room for 6 18s without using a topper. also the way that box is dessigned its going to act as a 6th order bandpass so your really not going to have room for 6 18s unless you choke the hell out of them and even then youd probably be better off with four because you could get them closer to their propper air space requirements. thatd save you money and the outcome would be preety close if not better. also is that a single cab truck?

thanks and yes the fi x and assasin are almost the exact same sub. and thanks alvitae im prob going to bring it with me and see if it will make a difference in which class i run. but i still dont know which class to run in the first place????

a buddy of mine is doing a wall in a dakota with four of either 12s and each sub will be seing around 2 cubes without port and tuned to 30 hz with 350 watts rms to eahc sub. he listens to rap most of the time. also he's looking to be hitting some higher scores. jw which would perform better in this application. thanks

yea i was just wondering though because ive seen some videos of one and it sure lokked like it was excurding way past 11mm one way even and lokked to have as much excursion as the assasins. and he'll be throwing pleny of power to them i think somewhere around 700 rms

well than ...u should buy the 187 and try it out ... sure u will be happy with IA im probably gona and i no ill be happy with ia im getting 2 dp21s for now and eventually anouther 2 so ill have 4 in my taco. and this isnt for me its for a friend and im just trying to get him the most sub for his money and is THE xmax measurement really right on the 187

hey thanks guys see i actually own a assasin or fi x actually and have it in a 6th order bp but have never heard the 187 the only thing thats wining me over to the assasin is that it has 16 mm xmax linear one way and the ia has 11 total so 5.5 one way

hey all just built my first 6th order and it came out beautifully. this was for an fi x 12 and pounds for what it is and what power im throwing to it. and illl be sure to have picks of it upp tomoro. also did my blowthrough and that was a succes as well. just wanted to say thanks for the help

the problem was he broke them out not in jk prob sub sonic and playing outside of tuning, a friend of mine blew his two cvr tens tonight for the same reason even though i had told him numerous times that if he wanted to merk the lows he needed to build a box tuned lower instead of his 4 cube 40hz tune burp box
