how many amps does your alternator have?
eggyhustles replied to DnK's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
stock 120amp xs power bat upfront and deka 9a31 in the back total power - 3760 watts i get slight dimming so i may upgrade the alt down the line -
Same, except it means I have zero time for audio. weekends?

I did damn waste of money I spoke to Ant from SS, told him i wanted to get rid of some road noise and he recommended the spray on stuff for my wheel wells, and hood.. didn't eliminate any road noise..

Those l7's will get loud and sound great in a properly designed and built box.
-
The guys are right my 2 way setup was rushed and it came out sounding like complete shit.
-
do it dude!
-
If u want it louder, tuning lower should be the last thing you do. try 33-35
-
go for it dude..but plan plan plan i had a peerless sls 8 fiberglassed in the doors and a tang bang mid in the a-pillar i kinda rushed the build since i needed a car and it came out sounding shitty..now the car...well the interior is in my garage in a million pieces =(
-
would 4 of these work well with a sundown 1200?
-
I had a 12" q ported in 2.2 cubes tuned to 32 hz and it always lacked from 50 to 80..it was very bottom heavy..i ended up going sealed and loved it even though it lacked in output seeing that you're going with 2 15's, output shouldn't be an issue...in a perfect install with 2 15" q's, i'd vote sealed
-
Even that is too high. What processing are you going to use and how do you plan to choose your settings? I'm gonna use a rockford 3sixty2 I'm gonna need a mid i can cross lower than 250 since the tang bang w3 will crap itself that low..esp when cranked up I would like to bandpass the sls 8's from 60 to 200-250, get whatever mid that can bandpass from 250 to 2k, and let the tweet do the rest.
-
I still have alottt to learn i was forced to go with a 3 way since the sls 8 gets a lil muddy after 350
-
Those mach 5 mids can play up to 2k? didn't even know that..

Powerful small footprint amps.

I currently have an mb quart dsc 4125 for 2 peerless sls 8's(does 500 x 2 bridged) sundown 100.4(tang bang mids & alpine tweets) and a sundown 3000 for 2 xcon's. I was doing some measurements in the trunk of my acura tl while laying down deadening and there's no way to fit those 3 amps, 4 cube box, and a big battery so i need smaller footprint amps. what i need is 1 4 channel that can do 300+ bridged @ 4 ohms(pdx is an option, though i'd like something smaller) 1 4 channel that can do 100-125 x 4 @ 4 ohms(may pick up an arc audio mini) 1 mono amp that can do 3000-3300 @ 1 ohm -

To me its a personal preference and to each its own, just build a sturdy box and follow the tips in my previous post. You will be good put up a build log when you start the install. I'm having a shop install everything..i'll ask them take pics of the install, though. I'll take that into consideration. -

Anything smaller than the sundown that i can use? I really don't wanna mount it to the box, and it won't fit on the seatback.
