  1. ok, now is it OK for me to apply this glue without any reprocussions to the warrantyfailure of this speaker? because i will repair it to the best of my abilities - but i do not want to be responsable if the glue fails. thanks for getting back to me so quickly
  2. and why not IC-2000? http://www.bsi-inc.com/Pages/hobby/ca.html
  3. Hey there! I have this awesome little subwoofer that i have barely used more than a few hours - and the surround in a small area is comming up from the landing. i heard chuffing in a sealed box with the grommet and thought there was an air leak. upon further inspection i came to notice that the surround was not fully adhered to the basket surround landing! this is a project for a customer of mine, and i have already sent an email into you via your web support contact form - but this is kind of an emergency, as i am supposed to be finishing the fiberglass box for him this weekend - i am about 50% done with it and i am going to push forward with the baffle and port still - but i need to know what you recommend to fix the problem. i do have some bob smith industries IC-2000 ca glue that i could use to re-glue this area - but i did not want to start putting glue down without express permission from you guys because i do not want to be liable for any warranty items - just in case. i have plenty of expierence at putting speakers together, i just want to make sure its not an issue. also, you may want to put an addition to your website about the specs of the overall diameter of the speakers WITH the gasket... i added 1\4" to the OD of the speaker when i made my flush baffle, and it does not fit with the gasket on - its real close, but im not about to jam it down there. maybe just add a line "overall speaker diameter with mounting gasket 8.5" or something. just food for thought. cheers- andy

    The Mag is here.

nick, driver sounds amazing. no 15's though? i was thinking a pair IB would be fantastic. i have some IDQ15's as it stands and 1kw for them... but as i was reading i was thinking a pair of mags wouild be real nice. is IB even an option? and why no 15s?

    so. no midbass then
  6. looking damn good tom. i was gonna say, i didnt know where the engine went lol im sure you can fix that. im not a big engine person, im more of a body\interior kinda guy myself. i just never had a car that i could work on. if i lived round ya id defintaly give ya a hand. good stuff man. cant wait to see where this goes. are you just restoring it - or do you have further plans for her?
  7. thanks mike exactally what i needed to know
  8. i dont know about you. but my idqs can play well over 100hz. i dont have the crossover set that high, but its got a low slope. but 99% of people arent purists. they want the subs to play a bit of upper frequencies. most people dont want to spend $300 on their front stage. thats life. nevermind i even asked. i was just curious about people who owned the 18 and had expierence with box types.
  9. thanks guys i didnt ask for oppinions about his midbass setup. he will be getting a sufficent frontstage. i asked about what box volumes would yield a smooth frequency extension above 50hz. so, for people who have expierence with the rlp18, what kinds of boxes have you put it in, and what sounded the best. i know what midbass is guys. i dont have personal expierence with the rlp 18, i was asking for advice on what box volmues and port tuning\size would be a good start.
  10. 80-100 low mid bass
  11. buddy of mine is looking at the RLp 18, or a pair of RLp15's. he is worried about upper frequency extension, i planned on building a box with a swappable\pluggable port. i was wondering what people are using for box sizes, and what the best volume would be for a sealed and ported box. any recommendations\expierences would be greatly appriciated. thanks a bunch

i want a replacement for the IDQ8. make it play from 50hz to 1.5~2khz. make it about 3" deep if possible make it available in 2ohm SVC lets see the sensitivity stay above 88ish db, as high as possible make it suitible for IB off axis doors thats what i want out of a new driver. if all the requirements cant be met, then oh well. but another 8" sub can be made quite easily for a few bucks, i know theres a market hole for a good midbass 8" 2ohm speaker for car audio - theres tons of 8ohm high efficency\frequency range midbass' out there, but it does not help when all we have for them is like 30w and they are like 5" deep. lets see what you can do. i will definatly buy a pair.
