Yeah.. don't mix sizes.

Does the same go for the 20.1? Or will production continue for it?

I don't think he's looking for an RL-i type woofer, just something cheap and Shallow that'll work off of a factory amp.
-
Gonna be pretty hard to find. Not very many 8" woofers come in DVC anything let alone 2 ohms.
-
What kind of info?

I'd tune the RL-p's to 28-30hz

Sound dampening and absorbing products
johnecon2001 replied to JazzScreamer's topic in General Audio
Most people use SS simply because it's proven as one of the best deadeners. You could also look into to Cascade's deadener. But you'll find that it's much more expensive for not that great of a gain in performance. -
You'll want a Dual 2 ohm woofer. You can wire it to 1 ohm with one SAZ-1500D, then when you get the second, you can run one amp to each coil.

SAZ 1500D Power Wire Question
johnecon2001 replied to Larryt38's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It wouldn't be hard, but you still wouldn't have the throughput that a single 1/0awg line will have. -
Grab a measuring tape, a Pencil and a pad of paper.
-
Dampen all of it. Damplifier or Damplifier PRO would be fine

SSA 18" Prototypes.....vids
johnecon2001 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
The SAZ's are strapped. Forget what ohm load he's running though. -
You don't have to send out the full 3kW to the RL-p's. You can turn the gain down.
-
wtf. holy oversized signature.
-
That sounds like a plan. What midranges are you using?
-
Right.. but that's not really what I was getting at. If you're wanting to run a three-way front stage... you ideally need to put all three drivers up front to adequately blend them together.
-
That box size would be optimal for either woofer. However, the tuning would be better suited to the BL. What kind of power will you be feeding them with?
-
The only thing you ever want coming from behind you is subbass. Why? Because everything above that is directional.

All of the Fi recommended sizes can be found on their website, or by checking the forum stickies in the Technical Forum.

Alternator question

The Tacoma with the tow package has a 130A alt. Everything without it has 60/80/90A. -
SAZ 1500D Power Wire Question
johnecon2001 replied to Larryt38's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can get away with upgrading your wiring to 1/0awg (both the main line and the Big 3). Then if you have the cash I would HIGHLY recommend at the very least getting a better/larger battery under your hood. After that, you'll need a new alternator if you decide to go bigger.
