    Question

No. This isn't the "lets see how little we can get away with" game. If you dip your voltage too low, you will toast that amp. Without a supply able to keep up with the demand, it'll happen rather quickly.

    100.2 in protection mode why???

Is the SD-V1 a dual voice coil sub?

DMM's are $10 or less.. It's worth it so you don't destroy something.

If the amp was clipping, you could blow subs with 600w.

    Question

Do NOT buy that Alterstart alternator. People who've bought those have had nothing but trouble.

One 15" BTL Vs Two 12" BL

I'd do the BL's unless you can change your port tuning.

    BL for sure.

    SI MAG vs FI BL/BTL

I would say Q vs Mag is more of a fair comparison.

    1 bl or 2 ssd's

Whole lotta variables in that question Chief. Can't really give you an accurate answer. What are you looking for out of your setup? And what are you hoping to beat with it?

    SSD problems

You're not really getting me on the whole gain thing. You have no idea how much power you are actually sending to the sub. The gain knob doesn't tell you that. A DMM will, and an oscilloscope will tell you if it's a clean signal that isn't clipping. I'd back the gain down and see if the problem persists. You're probably just overdriving the subwoofer due to too much power.

    SSD problems

So you just turned your gain knob? You didn't set the amplifier correctly? You're probably sending too much power to the subwoofer. Either bottoming it out or causing the Tinsel leads to slap. Have you taken it out of the box to inspect it visually yet?

I doubt it will be out by the time you're ready to buy.

    2 12" BL's

Do you have enough space for 2 12" woofers in the configuration you want to do? Especially in a ported box? You might think of going down to two Q 12's in a sealed box off of a 1500D. Sealed boxes are fairly easy to build and with a decent amount of power can get loudish.

    time to upgrade highs

I'd pull that regular Dynamat off and put something butyl based on instead.
  21. shizzon........... you talked to a buncha people on the phone that told you, you must have an issolator....... and besides..... the man stated that he sent the alt back ..... thay sent him a new one... dont you think perhaps he did talk to SOMEONE He sent the alternator back because it died, not because the battery light was on.

    2 12" BL's

I don't understand your want to put the subs in the backseat vs the trunk. If you have a properly built box, you won't need to worry about "sloppy" subs. The way you intend to do it, I would classify as sloppy though.

    Sub choise

How are you going to run two 3000D's strapped at .5? They'll most certainly go into protect. I'd wire like this.
