Future electrical issues ahead???
johnecon2001 replied to Duran's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would just get the DVC1 woofer. If you have a stout electrical, the 3000D will be fine at .5 ohms. -
You forgot one:

Whew, math is hard!

What does this look like?

Just because the casing looks similar, doesn't mean it's the same battery internally. -

lol, you're going to recone your subwoofer everytime you go to a competition? -
I'd go with 3^3ft @ 35hz and call it a day. That's after displacement as well. Use an external aero port if you need the space. A single 4" should be fine.

I'd be interested to see what a little polyfill does for your low end response. Feel like testing that out??
-
Could try using an external port.

I'd love to know how you'll be running that amp at both 1 and 2 ohms. Physically impossible with only one woofer. You could run at 2 and .5 if you used a DVC1 woofer. -
Does look as if the box is a tad too small... but not quite sure what you mean by a sucking sound. Is the port to narrow perhaps and you're hearing port noise?

This isn't the For Sale Section. & Deleted.

I went through this with my Civic. You do save money, but it takes exponentially more time to complete.

How annoying of you... I listen to my music, and I doubt other people will enjoy what I listen too. Why force it upon them? You say you want "SQ"... well son, you'll be wanting a sealed box then.

You can get a recertified 1500D for $360. http://www.db-r.com/sell/store/index.php?productID=143 -
Sounds like a MEAN plan.
-
Nick will contact you. Or you can email him.
-
You won't get anywhere NEAR 3kW on each 1500D. Not even on 17v
-
For that power, the Q would better suit your needs. You'll want the Dual 2 option.
-
Well man, to be honest, if you're worried about your electrical.. running one 3000D at .5 ohms isn't that great of an idea. Those things burn up real fast if the voltage is too low. What do you already have in the power department?
-
$200 a month?!?!? Jesus, slap the person that told you that. Lamps last a minimum of 8 months depending on use and type of projector. Most are rated at 2000+ hours.
-
What kind of power are you delivering to the sub and what have you upgraded electrical wise? Box building isn't an exact science for what you want. You'll need to experiment with a few different designs before you get to perfection. And then, there is always room for improvement.

Depends on your skill as an installer to be frank.
