    Check my box specs

In this case, you're wrong. 34hz is the recommended tuning for this sub.

    Q18s... not very loud

Not sure what box your SX's were in.. but sealed is going to be far more quiet than a ported box.

    Used subwoofer w/ new subwoofer

If it's the same subwoofer, you should be fine.

    Amplifier repair

This is great news! Since dB-r went commercial, there aren't many places that will help with the repairs

    FI sub questions

That is the DCR Resistance with the coil at rest. You don't need to worry about it.

    Sound Quality

Two that leap right to the front of my mind are the Stereo Integrity Magnum v4 and the SSA ICON. The Incriminator Audio Flatlyne would also fit the bill

    batteries

Just because of you comment on them. my boy starts his truck on a HC1400 its a Chevy Silverado V8 4.8L Not even close to the same electrical power that a diesel needs to start. Diesels rely on pressure and "glow plugs" to fire their mixture. To crank the engine over to obtain that pressure takes some serious juju

putting togather a system for a friend....

I don't really have an recommendations on budget amps... but for batteries and subs.. Powermaster D680 - $109 Mach5 MJ-18M - $155 OR Incriminator Audio Lethal Injection 15" - $219

    Alpine CDA-9884, PXA-H100, KTX-H100

You could in theory do that, but you won't have any Time correction. A better option is to use the H701 if it'll work with your deck.

    Alpine CDA-9884, PXA-H100, KTX-H100

The imprint stuff isn't really ment to run 3-way active. You could do it, but you'll lose your ability to run a subwoofer, and even then, it won't be ideal because you won't be able to bandpass the Midbass

    lithium

Indeed, everything about lithium is nice. Mostly though because of the size reduction and the smaller weight.

    Thanks Trevor:p

    Here's me telling you.
  17. Lots of people run the wire through the port. If you don't mind the way it looks, just do it.

ported box tuning for icon 12's

Tune higher to be louder, lower to be more musical. Rule of thumb right there.

    Tuning my amp?

How is your box, "not really tuned". It's either a tuned box.. or it's sealed.
  22. SSaudio (our admin) has this unit. He used to have the AVIC-D3, and he loves this WAY more. hopefully he'll pop in here and give you his thoughts.

    Choosing Subs

Indeed, the Crunch GP3000D would be a great investment. Pair it with a set of Q's with the BP power option, and you'll be good to go.
  24. This is a lot of work.. My PAC bypass was a BREEZE to install and I don't have to do anything to start playing movies.
