Generally, we don't like to use LSQ because people tend to confuse what they really want when they start using mixed terms.

SSA Dcon's are ready to ship!!

Time for another photoshoot in the ole garage aye? -
What kind of space do you have, and what type of box are you thinking of?
-
If you're burning your coils on the kickers up... that's more due to the fact that you're either clipping the amp, or have the gains set WAY to high. I'd get that all resolved before you think of putting new subs in. Because you'll only end up burning those up at some point too.

Which is better for 2 12" MTX 9500??
johnecon2001 replied to kingkeem5's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Around 1kW would be a safe amount to throw at each. How about a budget for your amp? I wouldn't pick either of those amps. -
The 30001BD was discontinued because the 40001BD came out. ps, lets try not to get so butt hurt about your rockford gear ok?

If you're open to other ideas... the Crunch GP3000D would be a far better option than the Power Acoustik.

Portable GPS in cold weather?
johnecon2001 replied to hayes55987's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
I doubt anything will happen to it unless for some reason you get it wet. -
Because the size of the magnet really has to do with how good the sub is. Everyone knows that! With your budget.... I'd get one good sub instead of those other cheap options. One good woofer will put all of them to shame in terms of loudness. For the price though, the RE RE's are hard to beat on a sounding good front.
-
Well you haven't really given much information to go on other than you have a budget of under $175 for each sub. And your boxes are 1.2^3ft. You haven't told us listening preferences or whether your boxes are ported or sealed. Edit: Don't make another thread when you already asked the question in this one.

What is up with my 16v setup?
johnecon2001 replied to slam's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
19 volts isn't standard for charging 16v batts though. Neither is 15v for 12v batts. -
^ I've still got two of the pre-buyout 8's and one 12" floating around my garage.
-
Strictly competition? You should have picked a different sub.

Four 10" Icon enclosure (termlab Video...143.6 @ 10hz)

Aaron... you should probably send Trevor the XCON proto to play with.. -
Fi will tell you not to use WinISD. Just use their recommended box sizes.

I believe Nick has said the SE is basically the SSD with a copper coil.

The RE12's were once proclaimed as one of the best sounding 12" budget speakers around. Not sure if that is still true, but for the price you pay for them.. they're pretty potent.

12" sub in a 1.0 cu ft box sealed
johnecon2001 replied to BigDaddy13440's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I can't imagine your current setup sounding very good at all. Remove the 10's, remove the 15's. Get two subs (of the same size). Build the recommended enclosure, and be happy. -
amp settings
johnecon2001 replied to sandsnip3r's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Subsonic should be one octave below your tuning point. Low Pass filter will depend on where the sub can blend with your front stage. Leave the phasing at 0, or play with it like KU40 suggested. -
What is up with my 16v setup?
johnecon2001 replied to slam's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You ran 19v to a 16v battery and wonder why it's dead now? Let me think about that one some more. -
Try swapping RCA's. Sundowns are notoriously picky on what RCA's are being used.
