I'm sure there are other AGM chargers out there for less, but this was the cheapest Checker had at the time and I needed to charge my batt. No complaints though, it even has a little fan on it to keep it cool

The old ones are gone, you'll get a new one.

Does it have a rear locker? I know some of them do. If yours does, you are pretty set to conquer some rad shit.

The dealership let it go with M/T's? Nice.

fuse

Fuse amperage, depends on wire Gauge. So hopefully you got 2AWG or higher. -
Beat you to it

I picked up a Schumacher SSC-1500A. You can get it for around $70 at Checker/Kragen. It has a setting for AGM batteries (which is what you want). DO NOT use a regular wet cell charger on it.

I think you should use some damn punctuation.

Strapping Amps
johnecon2001 replied to dnb's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There is no way to tell you which will be louder since there are uncountable variables in place. For deeper bass, you should tune to the lower end of the ported box recommendation from Fi -
RCA

Also, what head unit do you have? -
No, that won't work. You'll end up blowing the amp and having to buy a new one anyhow. So you might as well just skip the blowing up step.

One thing I didn't know before that Mark pointed out to me tonight while I was shooting these... The multiple woven tinsel leads. Three per contact point. Holy jeez.. -

How many channels are you actually running? -
I do believe the Copper coil drops the power handling a bit actually.

How about you give us a general goal and budget of what you are working towards.

Do you mean "would"?

Definitely still a You're not getting out of that one.

Strapping Amps
johnecon2001 replied to dnb's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Wire the sub to the recommended strapped impedance and you'll be just fine. 1 ohm vs 2 ohms has nothing to do with power output unless a certain amp produces more power at 1 ohm vs 2. In this case, your amp is 1 ohm stable all by itself, but when you strap two of them together, you add the lowest loads together and that is what you MUST wire to. Buy the DVC 1 ohm BTL and wire it in series to 2 ohms. -
You could always use external Aero ports to achieve a ported box with little space consumed for the port.

Swapped head units...now what
johnecon2001 replied to fresh1's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You should set the gains correctly based upon your output voltage from the head unit using a constant test tone signal. -
Output Power VS Fuse Ratings
johnecon2001 replied to 3stagevtec's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
And that's hard to believe why? Quite a few amplifiers are known to put out more wattage at higher impedances -
Budget 1/3 of your cash towards sound deadening and speaker positioning materials. They're just as important as the actual equipment.
