johnecon2001 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Use the same size (or larger) wire as your power wire, for your grounds. -
Audiopipe AQX35001 3500 Watt RMS Amp
johnecon2001 replied to reaudiofreak85's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd rather have the Crunch GP3000D -
That's just an uneducated opinion since you haven't compared both head to head yet.
-
You can't "wire" each coil. It's one ohm regardless. In the proper box, the NS should handle those amps just fine.

amp questions
johnecon2001 replied to mwerling1212's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The Audioque is a one channel amp. It doesn't matter what terminals you use as long as you use one positive, and one negative. Do you have your user manual for the kicker? It outlines bridging it there. You can also get it off of Kicker's site. -
Need Help with wiring to subs
johnecon2001 replied to jren04's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
More information dude. -
The 10-18" have the same power handling. You'll want the DVC1 option, wire it like this:
-
Air displacement comes from the cone moving. You need a close space to resonate the air in.
-
Your amp isn't too powerful for the CVX, you probably just clipped it to death with an improper setting.
-
Why wouldn't you be able to invert mount the BTL? The only sub off the top of my head that would be difficult to invert would be the W7, but it could still be done.

johnecon2001 replied to Solid_State13's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can't see clipping without an Oscilloscope -
Without anymore information than what you just gave us... it's impossible to say whether you'll need to upgrade or not.

question about shade 18 and 18z in general
johnecon2001 replied to blazer24's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You should rebuild your box if you're not hitting certain notes. -
Should be the same.
-
Incorrect. The better your grounding system, the better luck not getting "road" (commonly referred to as Alt wine) noise.

XCON 18" Production Photos
johnecon2001 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Mark doesn't have a lawn. Offer to be his cabana boy and I bet he takes you up on your offer. -
You shouldn't be looking at your subwoofer to play 70-125hz. You should be looking at your midbass speakers.
-
You did? I couldn't tell

I think your username says it all.

johnecon2001 replied to buickid's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You'd have to check your user manual on the particular head unit you have.
