down to my last 3 choices

Seems the clear solution would be to get the sundown and MAKE it fit. Full warranty + kick ass amp + cheap = good times -
Did my big 3 today and wiring questions
johnecon2001 replied to Yang's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would say for 650w, at least 4awg. Glad the big 3 helped, its one of the best DIY things you can do you help your voltage. -
12" ICON's in S10blazer
johnecon2001 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
No one has done a strict SPL build yet (coming soon though). Mark did 148~ on the TL with his two 15's in a street beat box. -
great review, finally someone put one up!

I thought the P3000.1 was a lot bigger.. or am I missing something? Looks awesome either way though, I only hope for a wife that would let me rip apart her minivan someday.

Street c Crx Amps
johnecon2001 replied to weedstnr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Jacob tried to test them that low, but I believe the wattage gains werent as impressive as 0.5 DCR was. PLus it was drawing a lot of power at that point and efficiency was down. -
Where are you planning on putting the port too?
-
Lol subs in stereo. That's pretty funny. Again, like Jim said.. not in a vehicle. What do you mean by crossover point? It'd be pretty silly to cross each sub of the same type over differently. And source material? Do you know anyone that has 11.2 surround in their car? Because I sure don't. There are few theatres that even use it. 5.1 = mono sub(s).
-
Shouldn't have any cancellation problems as long as the subs are wired in phase.

Lol subs in stereo. That's pretty funny. If you only have 2.5^3ft that kind of limits what you can do. Obviously most subs will sound better sealed, and with you wanting SQ, that would probably be the best route. I haven't heard the ICON in a sealed box (only ported at this point), but I have heard multiple Soundsplinters in sealed boxes. Four the amount of space you have, a single RL-p 12 or two RL-i 10's would be good for you.

He's using an audiocontrol mic.. They measure significantly louder than the TL. Not as accurate too.
-
Irrelevant. Not entirely. For $650, I would have expected something much better. Not that W6's aren't good... just, not $650 good.
-
There are very few subs that I would pay $325 each for... and W6's are not one of them.

What wouldn't be safe about it? How much power are you running to necessitate a larger battery? You also should look into completing the Big 3 wiring upgrade.

How much power are you running and what is your budget? -
You only need one thread. In one place.

Can you say.. "yum.. silveerrrrr" I would almost scrape off the logos of the USAcoustics amps just to make them all match. But I'm crazy. -
And this is why we love Jacob. In that totally straight, consumer to manufacturer way.
