    two questions

It's a little complicated, but you can start out at http://www.giganews.com/ find me on AIM later if you do that sort of thing, and I'll walk you through it all.

    two questions

As far as question two goes.. Torrents are ok, but there has been a recent crackdown on that kind of file sharing. I'd go the Usenet Route. It has a monthly fee associated with it, but its less than half of what you'd pay for a NetFlix membership. And you'll be getting advance release DVD's and Screeners. Not to mention the other goodies that are on there.

    crutchfield speaker sizes...

Another thing I just remembered. Fitting a 6.5" speaker in the stock hole is a pain in the ass! The hole is a bit undersized due to the stock speakers using a smaller gasket area on the outer rim of the speaker. The hole is also like a cone as it goes from top to bottom. So if your speaker has more of a square basket vs shallow mount or cone shaped.. you're gonan have to do some trimming.

    lanzar opti

Normally I wouldn't disagree with you... But this time, you're off a little. The old Lanzar line was killer. Typical, made-in-america-kick-ass underrated amps. When Lanzar stopped having amps built by Zed the quality went down on the lower lines but the Opti line still stayed a quality line. Not saying they're as good as the older Opti's, just saying.. that they're still way above most amps out there today.

    some good component speakers

Here are a few from SonicElectronix that fit within your price range. I've heard all three and they're all good passive sets. They won't blow away anybody remotely concerned with SQ, but they still will sound good for a ground pounder system. You may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, so make sure to shop around. crutchfield speaker sizes...

Man, I used to have a '94.. but I can't for the life of me remember the speaker depth. I know its really close, and the way that the cavity in the panel is setup makes it so you cannot use a speaker baffle to buy some more room.

    some good component speakers

$150 for a set of decent components is totally doable. What will you be powering them with?

    FINALLY PICKED MY SETUP

You need to go to FI's website and find out what coils they offer. Because.. you can't get the BL's in 4 ohms. Research my friend. Do some of it. You have the basic concept. You'll be wiring the subs in Parallel-Series format. If the subs are wired to 1 ohm... why would the amp be putting out the 2 ohm power rating?

Those speakers are joke. Do you have a budget that we can work around?

    FINALLY PICKED MY SETUP

You need to spend some time learning how wiring subs works. With a dual 1 ohm sub you can wire each one to either .5 ohms or 2 ohms. When you put two of the DVC1 subs together you can wire them at 1 ohm or 4 ohm (also .25 ohms, but hardly any amps can go that low). So you want DVC1 subs so you can get the most possible out of the amp.

    amp, sub, or wiring problem?

he's got a BL.. If they reconed the sub.. did they use the same voice coils you had before? Its possible you wired it wrong and now its at a higher ohm load making the amp produce less power.

    FINALLY PICKED MY SETUP

Not sure what distros come with the amp kit, but if you plan on going from the 1/0awg main line down to 4awg for the JL and 1/0awg for the sub amp you need to get a distro that is fuseable. As far as the Soundstream amp goes.. I've never personally used it so I can't really comment on that.

    FINALLY PICKED MY SETUP

Everything looks good. Make sure you get the Dual 1 ohm BL's so that you can wire that amp to 1ohm. Pass on that Stinger kit for sure and get the Kicker one. More bang for the buck.

sae 1000d wiring up to the sub question

No. Connect both positives to the amp. And then connect both negatives.

    A few Shots

So I'm at work today when I opened this thread. And everyone around me looked up when I said "holy shit" when I got to the motor pic. Is it just me.. or is the motor almost 10" across.

    NEED SOME OPINIONS

The amp can be strapped with another 3000D for a final wattage somewhere in the neighborhood of 6kW. There is no "bridging" of Mono (1 channel) amplifiers.

    Q amp recommendations

Ewwww why do you want to run Hifonics amps? Check with Excessive Amperage and Iraggi Alternators for some quality HO alts.

    Hey...

The ICON is an excellent choice. I doubt the combo will go away anytime soon so you should be safe. Welcome to SSA!
