Replace the ballast. Sonic waves can damage them.

problem with amp i think
johnecon2001 replied to avalonasty3627's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
he had the setup installed by some "professionals" and i'm sure what he ment by cranking it is he's turning his volume up. to the OP: do you have an aftermarket head unit? if so what kind? pioneers are known to give a chitty grounding noise in the RCAs that is audible at even no volume, but i don't think that is what is cause your amp to cut out. check all your wiring. remove the subs for any loose connections. I rest my case. -
How about you actually set the gains in accordance to how much the sub can handle this time? The proper way is to use an oscilliscope, but since not everyone has one, you can use a DMM as well.

I'd go for the ATH-AD700 personally, or the ATH-M40FS. A couple other decent ones are the ATH-AD500, and the ATH-A55.

When you turn the amp up all the way it clips and goes into protection... what did you think was going to happen when you turned it up all the way? -
Link us to the amp.

Pics of the truck would help. Especially interior pics. Does he have an access cab with the suicide doors? or is it a quad cab?
-
I doubt you damaged it permanently, lucky for you. Don't do that again though.
-
1 or 4. That's the only option.
-
You could also try Kinetik or Stinger. As well as a mutlitude of other battery manufacturers.
-
Depending on the 16v Alternator you get, probably only 2 moderatly sized batteries (specific to the 16v system).
-
So what exactly is your question? If it's a wiring related question... start reading at bcae1.com (specifically here) You've been asking a lot of simple questions lately, and you really need to start doing some reading on your own.

WOAH SWEEEEEET!
-
What was the voltage coming off of the RCA's at? How about input voltage off of the main power line?
-
Never EVER recommend them as a viable alternator choice ever again. Those are by far the WORST alternators on the planet.
-
Just make sure to anchor them down properly and you should have no trouble. There is always the chance that they might overheat there, but as long as you're not dropping them to an insane ohm load and wanging away on low voltage, you should be fine.
-
Sorry, I'll edit. I did mean 2 ohms.
-
Ahh but there you're wrong grasshoppa. Once you've used them all, you'll find out very quickly that Behringer amps do not have the same performance as other amps (hence, they do not do the same thing). And have you ever had to use Their warranty? If you do, you'll find it isn't that much of a warranty. Don't get your panties all in a twist over this.

150w RMS @ 2 ohms.

It's not a six channel amp, it's a 4 channel. That's not going to change. The wiring in the manual is just a way of wiring other speakers up. I've never seen anyone use that particular wiring scheme, perhaps Jacob can shed some light why it's even in the manual.
-
LUL, would you include paddles with it?
-
maybe some of the cheaper ones, but not Lab Gruppen, QSC, Crown, Crest, dB and I'm sure I'm missing a few other leading brands.

Amp making Noise?
johnecon2001 replied to Schmuck's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It's probably just a loose connector, don't freak out. Hifonics makes cheap amps.. I'm not really surprised that they rattle a little.
