zx2500 amp draw
johnecon2001 replied to wrathdchild281's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You fail to understand basic electrical draw. If you have an alternator that is supposed to put out 220 amps at full tilt, that doesn't mean that it will put that out all the time. It will only put out that amount when something is drawing that amount. In other words, if your beating around and its a reletively quiet part of a song and all of sudden the song gets loud.. you see a massive voltage drop as the alternators try to spool up all of a sudden to supply the amps with current. Your batteries act as a buffer so that doesn't happen. And when you're running that much power, you need a large battery bank. -
You of all people know that you very well could have passed that up.
-
I like how you're basing your final decision off of "I think". Very brave of you.

What's wrong with the Behr? I've heard of alot of car audio guys using them. So? Just because they're using them doesn't mean they sound good.
-
No batteries? I was waiting for some of those.

zx2500 amp draw
johnecon2001 replied to wrathdchild281's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can figure this out with some basic math and reasoning skills. Take the car's voltage on a good day, we'll use 14.4v as an example. Now take the rated power output at 2 ohms (2500 watts). Divide the wattage by the voltage. You should get around 173 as your number. Now this assumes that the amp is 100% efficient at that power level. You should assume about 70-80% efficiency on a good day. Figure each one draws around that 173 number though. -
HOLY CRAP.

I'd guess they're just the output ones. The big one looks like its for the power supply. Most of the Pro Crowns have them that size. -
Recomend some $200 components please...

The 720's are pretty sweet speakers. Be a hard passive set to beat. -
Eclipse in the future please?

The Arc should kill the Zapco head to head.
-
You're kidding right? Have you any idea of all of the variables that that equation has in it?

Don't bother loading them to the site, load them to imageshack.us or photobucket. Then use the supplied "forum" code that they give you to post them here.

2 SAZ-3000D's on one 220a alt and one battery? That's a big no-no. -
I assume ported? What is your resonant frequency? What space do you have to work with? What kind of power will be going to them? And in addition to that.. what electrical upgrades have you done? You're leaving out vital information here.

Not too much typing.. just not enough Paragraphs. The only flaws I see are the stock HU and the Behringer. Both will be detrimental to any type of sound quality, whatsoever. I'm sure someone else will pipe up about the speakers, but if you already have them.. you might as well use them I'd stick with a sealed 10, but I wouldn't use the Q. Sundown still has the SD1v2 preorder open til the 14th of this month. I'd jump on that if I were you.

3 cubes and 1500watts? Sounds like a 15" ICON would almost be perfect if you port to 33hz. If you could fit another .5cuft in the box, that would be ideal.
-
it's a full range output most likely for hooking up satellite speakers or to do a 2.1 setup.
-
If there isn't a rule.. chances are they don't care.
-
Doesn't sound like you care too much about sounding amazing with the setup.. therefore I vote for 1 15" BL ported.
-
What subs are you asking about exactly? Fi makes quite a few different ones.

HOLY CRAP.

One of the JBL/Crown amps? It looks real similar to the pro audio Crowns I've used. -
$200 seems low for that amp actually. Jump on it.

I'm gonna go with... what else was on his list ?
