Sounds like you tarded up the install to me. I doubt it has anything to do with the sub.
-
For the power you have, and your want for SPL, the BL from Fi should fit your needs. One 18". That should be impressive enough for you. You'll need the Dual 1 ohm sub for your amp to provide the best power to it.

That makes no sense, but ok.

keep the RCA's plugged into the amp and unplug them from the HU and see what happens.

AMP HELP to run S10C Solo Baric
johnecon2001 replied to Razz2o4's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You need an amp that will give you about 800w at 4 ohms.. -
I don't think you fully grasp how much money a REAL build is going to cost you. You're overlooking Electrical to support a huge system. If you want something that will kill, get two Fi BTL's with DVC2 coils. Then purchase 2 Incriminator Audio 40.1's. Then you'll need a 200-250 amp alternator along with two stout batteries (look into the Powermaster D3100) for rear electrical support. You'll also need to upgrade the front stage.. because once the subs go in, you'll hear nothing out of the front speakers. But that's another post.

Nothing is close yet. The prototype isn't done either. A single 3000D should be plenty on the ICON's. Especially if you're upgrading your electrical to support the sundown below 1 ohm. 900wrms per ICON x 4 = 3600w. We all know the SAZ-3000D does more than that at .5 ohms.

He didn't, muddybass just assumed.

Firstly, Welcome to SSA! Make sure to stop by the Newb intro forum to let us know who you are. Secondly, "loud but not too loud" Wow, thanks for giving us enough information to make a recommendation of equipment to you. What type of car do you have? How much space will you give up for the box? how loud do you want to go? Are you doing anything with your front speakers? Do you care how it sounds? Try to put a little more thought into your posts.

Maybe one SE on that power... definitely not two.
-
Tuning higher may increase output, generally it does. You gotta think of the power you don't have either. The RL-p's are probably laughing at 1200w.

hahahaha damn he came FLYING out of that hole

like to share some info about the saz 3000D
johnecon2001 replied to emperor's topic in Sundown Audio
It should be close to 4kW, based upon other numbers from competitors. -
What amp is the one you have right now? Are the W0's ported or sealed? Changing little things in your current install are probably better for you than just getting new subs since you don't want to change your amp.
-
You need to start by isolating the problem. First, disconnect the RCA's from the amp. Do all the signs you just told us about still happen? If they don't you have a problem with the RCA's or the Head Unit. If the problems are still there, its the amp. Moving on... Second, plug the RCA's back into the amp and unplug them from the Head unit. Do the problems still persist? If they don't, you can rule out the RCA's being the problem. Its the Head Unit. Report back here.

did you measure the resistance on the coil(s) yet?
-
The orange wire with the strip... just connect it to the power lead (switched power). Viola dash lights.

Acidburn has speakers that he built that get decently low without a sub as well. I think you should still do a sub, but limit it to extreme low end duty. 20hz-50hz at the most.
-
lol i'll put my money he only double baffled so the flares could clear from the floor hehe, you're probably right, but it looks great either way. I like the side view that shows the woofers and the port so much, I'd almost consider putting a piece of Lexan on that side if it was my box.

comparing EQ's

Go find you some Image Dynamic EQ's. -
Alt. Size ?
johnecon2001 replied to RiddleRampage84's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm pretty sure ESR only really applies if a bunch of caps are used in a set. Like in an amp. Either way, the fact of the matter is it doesn't hold a large enough charge long enough to help for more than a second when you system needs the power. -
Are the Tang Bands ported?
-
Were your last subs ported or sealed? Its possible that you'll be louder.. but you'll never know until you install it.

I wouldn't worry personally about what colors they light up. Especially if it's LED lighting. You can change the diodes rather easy with some basic soldering skills. I would look for something with the highest controllable bands possible for your install. 7, and lord knows 5, isn't going to cut it.
