What are the stock speaker sizes up front?
-
Fi cannot recone JL subs.
-
Just because you've seen people with that setup doesn't mean that the subs were in the recommended enclosure size OR ported.
-
heh, I was totally kidding. You should know how I detest hardcore SPL. I was more throwing out a joke because someone else on this board happens to be walling his mini for giant lulz.

Wall it off with 3 15" ICON's.

Hybrid-Audio guys: What Head unit and/or processor are you using?

Excellent. I've been trying to find something that has the ability to run active 2-way with onboard DSP whilst giving me a double din screen with DVD playback. Navigation I can live without. The choices are slim. Having dual drives (CD and DVD) would have been a nice bonus too, but the only deck that did that in my price range was the AVN6610.. and I don't think "Circle Surround II" means it'll be able to do a 2-way active lol. -

Wireless LAN Security

Spoofing MAC addresses is easier than cracking WEP keys btw. The most secure thing to do is to use WPA and kill the SSID from being broadcasted. It's still going to show up if someone has a sniffer, but if there are other wireless networks to choose from, yours will be the low priority. WPA is extremely difficult to crack. Almost impossible for most hackers, and they certainly aren't going to be able to crack it in the time spent in a car outside of your house. It's really not worth their time. -
That enclosure looks undersized for one RL-p 15". Is it deeper than it looks? And again! Are you looking for louder? Simply tuning the box higher should increase output. That box you have now is tuned wicked low.

So here's a question then.. with the H701.. it doesn't have to be coupled with a compatible Alpine head unit to access all of the key features? Or do you have to use the C701 to control it? Like for instance the IVA-W205 doesn't list as being compatible with the H701 on Alpine's site. -
Do you want the setup to be louder?
-
There are several things that could have caused the amp to pop the fuse. A short in the speaker wire could have done it, a short in the power and ground wire, too low of a ohm load, too little voltage the gain being to high and clipping the snot out of the amp. Also... why is your fuse that close to your amp? It's supposed to be 12-18" away from the FRONT battery.
-
Let's totally ignore the fact that whatever box you build will have a major effect on which is louder (that's what I'm guessing you really want to know). Let's look strictly at power and cone area. You're doubling the power and increasing the cone area.. so I'd go with the 12's being a bit louder than the single 15 due to those two facts alone. Of course this is all theoretical and could totally be the opposite depending on how good of an installer/box builder you are.
