    New Havoc 12

An LD is a Line Driver. He took it out of his signal loop. He was probably sending too much input signal to the amp causing a premature clip.

best fi sub for fosgate t8002 amp

You can seal the SSD if you like as well, and if he listens to mostly rap.. he's going to want a ported box.

    1986 F150 Truck Build

ROFL @ monster capacitor! Should have spent the money that went into that on a better battery. You'd have much better results. And people wouldn't have laughed at you lol

    Another one bites the dust...

The Type-X's are pretty sexy drivers. If you can get those for a good price, do em. The Hertz tweeters are really bright looking on a graph (hugh spike at 12kHz) so you'll need a good EQ to tame them. I've never looked into the OZ sets.

    Need sub changed

If you have the electrical it will.. I still don't think that it's really enough to get two BTL's moving a lot. Did you get the Universal option on your BTL?

Opinions on Sub to Buy (and AMP)

The SSD 10 with Copper Coils would do you right in a small ported enclosure. You should also have a look at the Ascendant Audio line. A couple Assassin 8's would be nice in the RX-8. Or even a 12 from them. You should also look at the SSA ICON 10" in a ported box. If you do decide to sell your amp for a more efficient one, you could check out the Sundown Audio SAE-1000D. The Store here can match that amp up to the ICON and the Assassins for a packaged deal.

sundown 3000 watt how many runs of 0 gauge?

I'd do a single run from the alternator to each battery. Add a buss bar to link them all together and then go right to the amp. That'd be awesome power.

    MLI Bookshelfs

Have you thought about actually using them as a sub? Can you tune it lower? I'd be interested in your design if you wanna send it my way.

    Sound problems

no, that was really a good suggestion, just one that should have popped up later in the thread LOL

    Sound problems

I'd guess it's your Electrical system before input voltage. If input voltage was too high, the amps would just shut down right away. It sounds like you're just draining the charging system of its juice.

    Need sub changed

What amp do you have? Are you sure it's even enough to power two BTL's?
  14. I'm at the ridiculous point now that when I swap drives out of my server I'm left with smaller ones to do something with. For example, I replaced a 400GB IDE with a 750GB IDE. Threw the 400GB into a cheap case that has USB2.0 and FireWire and booyah. Bombdiggity external drive. It's a little more expensive to buy a drive and a case separately, but worth it in my opinion. You know what pieces you're getting this way.

    Looking for a sub

If you're getting a new alternator and batteries, you won't need the capacitor. Hell, even if you weren't getting the alt and batts, you wouldn't need it.

    second battery question

Nice! Are you gonna jump on that alternator? Thats a great deal for that power.

    PS3 and Wii games

How has no one mentioned Uncharted for the PS3 yet? I don't even own a PS3 and I know the game is badass. Get that one if you like things like Metal Gear Solid and FPS type stuff. Hell, just get it anyway.

    hooking up an extra batt

This is how not to make a first post on a forum. Don't be ghetto. Do it right. Haha. Ok. Because it is so inefficient to use the battery as a distro. right? Obviously you would use an in-line fuse for each of the amps. I see no need for a Distro Block, Especially for the grounds. Run both amp grounds directly to the rear battery (-) terminal which should be in parallel with the under hood battery. You're not making friends here. Back off. You see no reason for a distro for the grounds because you've probably never used one properly. I didn't say it was inefficient to use the battery as a distro.. just that it wasn't the right way.

    Active Crossover for home use

The Drive rack 260 can be had on ebay for under $700. It gives you independent control of each output (none of that stereo shit that the PA makes you do).
