SQ competitior out of a 08' F250
johnecon2001 replied to Erotomania's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
You had me until you wanted to ad a second set of tweeters. Also, how did no one catch the fact that the guy is running 3 subs? 2 12's and one 10? What the hell is that? First things first.. You do need a better active processor... HOWEVER, you also need enough amp channels to run the front 3 way set active. Which means you need a processor that will run 3-way active. Ditch the passive crossover that came with the Focals, feed them individually and you should have enough coverage if you aim them properly. Adding more drivers is only going to add cancellation which is a negative approach from where you want to be. Basically.. Rip it all out. The only thing you're keeping is the front components, and the Alpine PDX-4.150. Then you're going to need either two more amps with 3 channels (one two channel amp and one monoblock) or one four channel amp that you can bridge two channels for a sub. Or one 3 channel amp like the DLS Ultimate A5. How much space does he have behind the back seat for a subwoofer setup? You need to also deaden the snot out of the entire cab. Half of SQ is no rattles, no exterior noise. You've got a long install a head of you bud. -
Thats a crazy sub box, I had no idea what you were doing in the first few photos.

2 ohm stable amp running at 1 ohm

What you ideally need is what power that amp produces at 1 ohm. From my past experience reading posts, it doesn't produce much more than it makes at 2 ohms. Probably about 200 more watts. -
70 amps is enough for your car as it is.. with no stereo. How are you planning on powering the stereo?

SPL and sealed box do not go together my friend.

My grandfather moved to Chicago when he was 3 from Greece, I'll have to ask him which town again. My middle name is Athanasios, and my last name is Economides. Greek is the hardest language I've ever tried to learn, kinda gave up and only picked up a few common words. The food on the other hand... I get along with Dolmathes great!

Forgive me lol, I'm a bit rusty. My papou is visiting and refreshing my vocabulary.

Actually 70 amps isn't that bad. My last car had a 50 amp alternator and I had a 1500 watt amp and a solenoid and a Stinger Power 2 dry cell in my trunk along with a cap and I had no dimming at all. 70 amps isn't going to cut it with the power he wants to run.

You'll have to play with box positioning in your car to see what sounds best to YOU. It might sound differently better or worse to one of us. But you're the one driving it around everyday. As far as an amp goes.. you need at the most 500w. And you haven't given a budget.. so... I'd try some of these options \/ Alpine PDX-1.600 Kenwood KAC-8103D Kicker 06ZX400.1 Rockford Fosgate T500-1BD Rockford Fosgate P600.1BD

That's because its not a standard ported box. I believe it's called "bent horn". Looks a little weird for that too though.

Suck. Too bad you don't have a 16v system. That'd increase the 1500D's output quite a bit.
