    Hifonics Haters

Most of the newer Crunch amps put out rated power or above I was surprised to see.
  4. You need to be prepared to keep your voltage in the 12's. Two red tops isn't going to do that for you. You'll need to upgrade your alternator to something in the neighborhood of 200 amps and get a more stout battery under the hood (or in the trunk).

is 35 hz a good port tune

The BTL isn't a sub that's supposed to sound good or get low. It's supposed to kill the meter. You should probably step down to the BL depending what power you have.
  8. You may get some port noise, but with a flared port it'll be minimal at best. You really can't go with anything larger because it would have to be longer.. and you only have 14" to work with.

Damnit Neil, I didn't need MOAR to read.

It's a birth sheet.. of course it does what it says it does.
  11. At 28hz using 2 2" ports they need to be 7.59". Use a flared port if possible.

information on ported and sealed boxes

If you're worried about output, port the Q. It'll still sound better than the BL ported. Tune it to something around 29hz-32hz and call it a day.

Is it possible to port a non-rectangle box?

  15. What's your total internal capacity? And what would you like the box tuned too?

    dual 1 ohm 18'' btl

If your amp is indeed .5 ohm stable, than the sub woofer will be just fine. You wire both of the positive wires to the positive on the amp and the same for the negatives to the negative on the amp.
  17. An isolator only really gives you the benefit of playing the stereo with the car off and still being able to start the car after you're done.

Did some more digging. Looks like impedance changes when you fade left to right. Presenting an ever fluctuating ohm load. One speaker acts as a ground and the other as a positive L and R. http://www.audioasylum.com/scripts/t.pl?f=...ge&m=122267 http://www.geocities.com/quadaudio/page13VariousVariety.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadraphonic#Hafler_circuit Crazy stuff, I need to read MOAR!

    I found this interesting

It's more complicated than that. It's almost like strapping two amps together.. but then again not. You're forcing the amp to send power to itself, except with a huge resistor in the way. Essentially putting most of the sound out of phase.

Which is the 15" sealed is the loudest?

    Nicely done! you'll like it
