so i just got Fruity Loops 6 and i have been messing around with it. well i figured out how to make beats and stuff, i have a little beat going (just starting with some easy hip-hop beats for now). anyway, all it does is it makes a little like 3 second loop of the beat i made, and i am trying to make it keep going and i want to record a song, and mix different beats i've made. anyone know how to use Fruity Loops or know of any good forums i can go to?

yea, i believe its called the playlist. i read a tutorial on how to do it, and i can see the playlist and where it has my one beat in there, but i can't figure out how to add any more beats to the playlist... -

yea, im trying to get a copy of Reason 3.0 now. im not really trying to do anything major with this, im not gonna go buy me a Mac so i can do it all, but i just thought it'd be fun to learn a bit and maybe make a few things. well after playing with fruity loops for a while, its very obvious it is extremely overwhelming and extremely tough to learn. its almost no fun anymore because i can't figure the stupid thing out. -
its good for up to 23 extra horsepower.

i tuned my eD 13Ov.2 to 29 Hz after being sealed in all of my previous setups and i was definitely not let down. SQ is awesome still. plus the extra output is extra nice.

ok, so yesterday, i took out my cheapo 3.5" dash speakers and taped off the ends of the wires with electrical tape. now, my right door speaker is very quiet, pretty much not even working, and when i turn up my stereo, the music cuts out in my front speakers. is this a short? i assume it is but just checking i guess.
-
so i have my filter set to LPF and the dial is turned as low as possible which is 50 Hz, and then there is a switch and a dial for subsonic. are you saying i dont need to turn subsonic on? if i do turn it on, what should i set the dial to? i think it ranges from 20 to 50 Hz. what is subsonic?? also, when i turn my stereo up, i can hear my front coaxials distort, and i have the cheap bass blocks on there. the problem is, i am lacking in midbass, so i was wondering how much more my speakers would distort if i took the bass blocks off, in order to gain more in the midbass.

alright, so i finished up my box last night, and got it installed this morning. the box seemed heavier than what i expected, so after i put the sub in, i weighed it. it came in at 64 pounds. not a lot since the sub is like 20 pounds, but that box seemed heavy. on to business now....so far it sounds great. i could not believe how much of a difference the box made. it hits real hard, gets pretty damn loud, and holy chit LOW. it doesnt do any flexing, but when it hits, it moves the whole windshield at the top seam and the same with the back windshield. i can't get my rear view mirror to stay put and it is shaking my headliner. i dont have any rattles other than the bladder things in my trunk that are there to release pressure like when you close the doors, so your ears dont pop. i can close those off. the worst part is my back dash! when it hits low notes, the thing jumps up in the air about 3 inches and makes this terrible rattle. i'll work on that, im thinking just some double sided foam tape should cure it. any ideas? i have my gain set correctly, but as far as the HPF and LPF and all that, i dont know what i should set it to. i can tell i need some tuning with it. any ideas on what i should set the filters to? i thought about using bass boost but thats bad for it am i correct? is there any way to turn on the bass boost and then re-set the gains lower to ensure minimal clipping? now finally i can tell people that i have one 12 when they think i have two 12's. pictures will be coming soon. OH YEA, almost forgot, this if off 400 watts. PIX ARE IN! i messed up....i cut that piece with a circular saw and then i ran outta wood so i had to fudge it a little bit with some weatherstripping foam and some door shims....i really dont care how it looks, but its sealed up good and that's all that matters to me! perfect fitment and no port noise!! and yes, i play tennis and raquetball...haha sorry about the pix, i've never had ripway do that! oh yea, sub is a 13Ov.2

it was a short, i had one tiny strand sticking out that i didnt catch and it was grounding. nothing is wrong with the HU, i guess im lucky, it all works perfect now!
-
i think i am going to put some cardboard under it and then i need to tape the child seat things down. i think they are for connecting child seats anyway....whatever they are, i need to tape em.
-
actually i dont have any rattles. thats one reason im so happy with it. only part i've had trouble with is my back dash with the carpet rattling, but that is only with tones, when i am just playing music, it only rattles just a tiny bit, you can only hear it if you are sitting in the back, and i never do. haha.

looking to buy a saw blade for my circular saw to cut my MDF. i was going to have lowes cut it, but i can't quit worrying that they will mess it up so im going to do it myself. i have been told to get at least a 40 tooth carbide tip blade....i am only going to use this thing once so i dont want to put a lot of money into it. i was thinking getting a higher tooth count blade, just not carbide tipped. i was thinking like a 120/150 tooth blade....would that work well? is the carbide tipped that big of a deal?
-
this box should be the only time i use it, but next time around i will probably go with a carbide. i figured that you would need more than 40 teeth..
-
well i went to lowes today and all i found were either 40 tooth carbide tipped blades for $10 or 140~ tooth carbide tipped blades for like $30. i didnt want to spend too much and being only for a one time use, i stuck with my 150 tooth non carbide blade. thanks for the help
-
ok, i just bought one for $5, 140 tooth, non-carbide. i live in a small town so i dont have much of a selection. i am going to lowes next week so i will check for a carbide one there. thanks for the help though

i remember that when i put my cd player in, i put bass blocks on the front speakers, do i really need those or is it just killing my midbass? will my speakers distort if i take them off?
-
hey, i got a pair of MTX coaxials, they were $30 brand new so you can't beat that. i wanted to get components but i was low on cash and this was a pretty good deal. i am pretty happy with them other than the stupid tweeters. they are way too harsh and too loud for my liking. how can i fix this? i've messed with the 7 band EQ on my head unit and still can't get em down. are there low pass filters or sumthin to filter out the higher tones? like the opposite of a bass blocker or sumthin....?
-
i would agree with that, i have very weak midbass, probably non-existent, its tough to do it on a budget. does deadening the doors really make that big of a difference?? i had considered putting that peal n seal on my doors (the stuff used for roofs). would that do the job, or do i need some real stuff made for deadening?
-
now i have the very last column on the right set to -8 and the next to last column set to -6 db and it is still doin it...i did buy a cheapo pair of 3.5" speakers to replace my blown stockers, could it be those? should i just disconnect the tweets on the mtx's?
-
both, they are harsh and they are too loud. is that possible or do they seem too loud because of the harshness? i have the treble way down, i think all the way down actually, and and i have been messing with the EQ. i dont really know which frequencies are on the EQ (im no expert) but i know that the last 3 bars on the right are set at 0 db. if i go much lower then it doesnt sound right. i want to buy an EQ but im broke right now unfortunately.

Buying speakers from E-Bay - good or bad idea?
bobby_7 replied to E-Dogg's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
i think it would be a good idea to search some forums classifieds and see what you can find there. again you will have to research the seller but many times you can get things cheaper than ebay or you can get the next model up for the same price in the same condition. -

refurb. amps........just curious
bobby_7 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i was looking around at profile's site and looking thru their refurbished amps. are these amps worth buying? not looking at buying one right now, but i had thought about getting a few two chaneel amps, bridging both, and hooking them up to my sub. thought about getting a third and powering my front speakers. that would be like $100 ish for 3 amps....can't beat that. Are there any other manufacturer's website's that sell refurbs?? anyone had any experience with them?
