KHC 16V or KHC 2000 Power Cell????
wof131s posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hello all, am new to this forum and seeking help. I currently have a 850CCA battery under the hood and wanting your opinion on adding either the KHC 16V Power Cell or the KHC 2000 to my system. I was thinking that the 16V would supply the voltage to the amp to put out full power and do a good job supply power, while with the KHC 2000 i may still have the 13.8 volts that i currently have ( or not, am not sure) but will surely have the power needed to run the system. I have a 230 amp HO alternator and the big 3 done (jointed 2 4 gauge wires together for each run, may need to change to 0 gauge?). I have a AQ2200D amp and 2 12" Incriminator Audio Death Rows. Which power cell would be the better choice for this application? Thank in advance for your response. -

I doubled up the 4 gauge and did the big 3 that way. Should i take that out and replace it with a 0 gauge wire? -
Any other opinions, help me out here.

I presently trying to get rid of two Q's and wanting something that will get loud and sound good doing it. The Q's got low and am also wanting a sub that can impress on the low end. An thinking about either two 12" Death Rows or two 12" Re audio SXs. What do you guys think?
-
ok thanks
-
So in your opinion, its a toss up between the SX and the Death Row. In reference to the SX that you heard before, how does the Q hold up against it, or vice versa.

Ok thanks jay-cee. Does anyone else have an opinion or whcih sub would be better?

Which Adapter do I Need?
wof131s replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok, now we have all the wiring done. When the head unit is turned up to about half volumn it plays without problems, but if it is turned up to about 3/4 volumn the 10 amp fuse in the line blows. Any ideas on why this happened. We triple checked the wire codeing so we know that wiring is correct, i also has a friend that work on car electrical systems check it out. Any reason why the fuse blow??? Thanks -
Which Adapter do I Need?

My brother has a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer (4.2L) and he was having problem with his factory head unit. He took it out thinking it was like other units where you can just make a simple swap and have a new head unit. It was a Delco/Bose unit and his Trailblazer has on star. I was told that you would need a different adapter (GMAH24B adapter) if you had onstar. Am needing to know which adapter does he need to buy to get his stereo working again? Or is there a way to bypass that stuff to get the stereo back on like you can do with the pioneer DVD head unit. -
I am wanting to replace my fi Q 15 ported with two 12 port in the cab of a 2000 dodge dakota. Am getting a 1500 and am buying another 15 to go along with the one that i took out of the dakota. Am want to hear from someone who has heard both the re se or sex 12's or the incriminator lethal injection 12's. I have been wanting a pair of either of these subs for a while. I dont really care about pricing and all that, am just wantting to know what are some of the pros and cons of each of these subs from the user's point of view. Stuff like low end, high end, SQ, Loudness, stuff like that. Thanks.

If it were me, i would do just that. Replace the wall that the sub is mounted on, remove both ports (35Hz is just a lil bit high for my taste) and create a new front end for the sub to be mounted to. Use 12-16^2 inch of port per cubic feet of airspace, create a nice big port (not to big though, or it will sound like sh$t) and see how it sounds. remeber to calculate the size of your port so that you would have the recommended airspace need to get the most out of your sub. Or if you dont want to do that just build a new box, but make sure you get the right info this time. Good Luck.

Which Adapter do I Need?

Hello, is anyone out there? -
I bought an 230A alternator from Nations Starter and Alternator in Cape Girardeau, MO about a year ago for $450, my warrenty is expired and now its squeaking. I spoke to the guy at the store and he says that there is no way that alternator is squeaking he said that he was 1000% (yes 1000%) sure it had to be something else but not the alternator. He is stuck on his work being perfect. All I can say is that I would never ever buy anything from them again. Ok now that thats out of the way, should i take it to an alternator shop to get it fixed, or should i just get a new one. And if so where can i get a 200-250 Amp alternator for a reasonable price? Its for a 2000 Dodge Dakota.

HO Alternator Help!!!
wof131s replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well the first time i heard the squeak i had it up there and they told me it was the belt so i bought a new one. Then again it happened and i went back and they said that the belt was of low quality. So i bought the belt that they recommended to use with the alternator and it still did the same thing. So i went out and bought a new tensioner, thinking that maybe the problem, still squeaked. They placed a new pulley on the alternator and it helped for anout a month, then it started squeaking again. So in total, I changed the belt twice and changed the pulley with no results. Any opinion on what to do? Thanks. -
ok thats cool, thanks for the input.

Two questions 1) Does the AQ2200 have a regulated power supply? 2) Would the AQ2200 be able to run 2 FI Q 15's with BP power, or would that be too much power for the subs? Thanks
-
Am just wanting to know from someone who may have used them if they were happy with their performance and/or some likes and dislikes. Thats it, just trying to get some performance feedback, dont have a specific setup in mind yet that am wanting to use any of them in. Thanks.

Am needing some info on two amps, First the Audioque AQ4X90 and second the USamps XT800.4v2. Am not needing to know pricing or anything like that am just wanting to get some pros and cons of both amps from someone who maybe running either one or has used both. Thanks

Electrical Problem !!!!
wof131s replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok thanks man. -
Am running 2 FI 15 inch Q's with BP power on an AQ 2000 watt amp in a 2000 dodge dakota. I upgraded to a high output alternator (230 max output, i had it tested), and i have already completed the big 3 with 1/0 gauge wire. I am presently using a 850 CCA battery in the hood and have no space for a battery inside the truck. I am currently experiencing diming and since am not interested in using a Cap, i was woundering if i took out that battery and replace it with a kinetik 2000 or 2400 watts battery, would that solve the problem? Thanks

Any help guys? -
I do own the Q's, and i think that they are down played a bit when it comes to being loud. These subs are awesome, they give me all i need and more. I know others would say that the BL's would be a better suit but i really like my setup. Great sound and it gets loud.

I found a place under the hood where i would be able to fit a Kinetik 1800 to go along with my 850 CCA battery. Would this be enough to stop the dimming problem
