A Brahma and a RL-p are two different classes of subs. You are clipping the sub if it is snapping like that, and overexurting it. When you clip a signal, the power is doubled. Buy a DMM and use this to set the gain. Have to remember that the RL-p is really rated at 600W RMS.... http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t=202655 Also, why crossed-over so low?

How are you setting your gains? What sounds is the sub making?

We are spoiled up here in Canada though Steve

Mistaken... yellow X? not quite...

Not necessary, set the gains correctly, turn on the stereo, run it at low levels and listen to the sub to make sure there is nothing mechanically wrong. If all is good, crank it up.

Somethings cannot be troubleshooted through an internet forum...

It has 2 bends... therefore three different port walls. One for the left side, one for the back, and one for the right side, with the entrance to the port on the right side.

Installed the Eclipse 5444 in my bro's car... one sweet deck. For $399 CDN, awesome price too.

lol, I have no idea what post... and it probably was a bunked design that I used as an example if it was as messed as it is, I don't post designs that are perfect, kind of a kick in the nuts to any sort of side-business I do

No need to take it out of the box... just use the meter on the wires...

Where did you find this design?

Welllll... just got home from work, time for bed...

Gain position has nothing to do with voltage available and more to do with input matching... my Brutus is matching at around 1/4 of its full gain.

clipping it.

errr, I can't stand EMO kids. I want to punch them in the head to give them something real to whine and cry about. And... the escort needs tips on how to do her makeup... maybe he can give her some.

RL-P 12 in fiberglass box and sound quality
ANeonRider replied to haydenlake's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have built enclosures consisting of 99.9% fibre, and no SQ issues that I am aware of. Wood framework is only needed if you are integrating a shape, as long as the fibreglass is not in flat panels, it will be very very strong. For added rigidity, I use a skeleton of poly rope on the inside. -
What rollin said, I have mine in a 2ft^3 tuned to 28Hz, and absolutely adore it. Also.. you do not have to tune that low in car. HT, yes. Car, no.

Congrats! Must teach this offspring the ways of the audiophile

Sounds like a torn tinsel, or bad coil. I vote bad coil since it is really hard to tear tinsels that are wound in...

lol, I don't even have an ounce of feeling that this won't be biased...
