im gonna be runnin 2 18s walled soon. AA Mayhems, itll be loud. I know the loudest kid around South Bend is runnin 2 DD 9518s walled off like 4k each.

I am going to order my mayhems soon! wanted to know if they come in any other basket beside that damn 12 spoke?

103 Days Til I Order My Subs.....But What Subs To Order? "Well Gee Mr. Acidik, why start your search so early?" because I am insanely indecisive, it took me about 2 months to pick out my amps. (2 Sundown SAZ-3000) So this is what is up. I am looking for 2 subs. Not sure about size because I have always ran 12s. What is the sound difference like between 12s and say 15s or 18s? I need them dual 2, and able to handle 3000w each with a budget around $500 for each sub, or close to $1000 total. (hopfully you figured that out) These will be daily use so I want mainly an SQ sub that can take 3000w because I know it is going to be loud. This will be updated quite a bit with questions and ideas and I am looking to get some good arguements going. Some ideas that I already am thinking of are -Omega -Fi BTL -AA Mayhem -RE? -DD? So we have the info, begin!

what about TC sounds?

Okay. I think it is out for a few Fi BTL, I have heard many good things about it and is one of my top choices AA Mayhem, also great, ive heard its a lot like the BTL, so if it comes down to it, would it be better sounding then the BTL on 3k? IA DP, great sub, but I have heard it will not take 3k Sundown, still not sure, i would need it custom I think the top 3 are where I am going. Opinions?

Do you think getting 2 18" of the SMD would be worth it on 3k each?

My Bad, its not so much that I want an SQ woofer, but the best sounding woofer to 3000. I realize it is all opinion, I'm just looking for some different ones. Right now the AA SMD, AA Mayhem, and Omega are on top.

Question, technically, what about a sub makes better sound quality? I'm not lookin for a brand, but what about the sub actually makes it better. I asked the same thing about what makes it louder and I finally got a good answer from my physics teacher that the way it makes sound louder is by making the waves larger, but I don't know how subs do that, excursion? Anyways, I'm lookin for a real technical answer, what produces good sound quality?

I have 2 3000s, and was lookin at Mayhems, are you guys saying the mayhems wont take 3000 daily?

My 2 3ks are sitting in my room waiting to be installed, if I knew this was going to be coming out, I would have gotten 2 of these, but I wouldn't even know what to do with that much power. Question, the 3k are 6k strapped at 2ohms. So 1ohm isnt safe for them, i get that, but why? and what are the 3500s gonna do strapped?

Do you have multiple ground locations? If so try moving the grounds to the same spot if possible. Also try grounding the deck to the vehicle chasis. If it's a Pioneer deck you may need to ground the rca shielding to the chasis of the deck to help eliminate the sound. Are you getting noise through all of your speakers or just the subs? Do you have an amp to the other speakers? wow, okay. 1 ground location, up front under the hood, because i am putting it on to the alt later. deck is JVC :-/ Kenwood running all the speakers. Ive IDed that is it ground noise and now i just need to shut it up. I need to get a better ground for under the hood, and then get some ground loop isolators for the Sundowns. Sound Good?

Subs are wired together at 2 ohms. I have 2 sundowns running, 1 amp for each. The subs are both seeing 2 ohms and putting out 1600 to each sub. Which output terminal do I put the speaker wire in. Left or right. It says for 1 sub its right, 2 its left, but the amps are not strapped. Help?!?!

Okay, I think these are good. Now.....I am gettin a nice whine from the amps while its running. the lower the music and quieter the whine. I think its the amps because I turn the car off and the whine still goes until the automatic shut off kicks on and all the amps turn off. ideas?

Not Strapped! Each running 1 sub individually! each running 2 ohm, 1600w, to an Earthquake DBXi-12d.

I know about the 2 pos and 2 neg. my question is which set do I hook them to, the right or left? Subs are dual VC 4 ohm Earthquake DBXi-12d.

I am going to be running, eventually, 2 BTLs off 2 Sundown SAZ-3000s. I'm throwing in a DC power AD 250 Special Purpose. DC is building it custom for my car and is the best offer I can find. Thanks Robbie. Anyways, now, the LAST THING I have to decide it what battery. I have it down to Batcap 2000(already have 1) and PM 3100. I'm going to get around 2 more for now, more later. What is better for a daily with a whole nutload of power? Could I mix and match? 2 and 2? try and get the best of both worlds? Thanks!
