JBL GTO14001 1500wrms @2ohm's Will it make this power??
rodolfo28 replied to Jeepjones85's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just changed my old PG Tantrum 1200.1 (great amp by the way) for a JBL GTO 14001 and I gained about 3 dbs! I'm driving a JL 13W7. So I think It really does rated power. How did you measure the 3db gain? Audio Control RTA So about a 1.5dB gain in real life then. Well maybe but you can feel the difference. -
Severe dimming w/ only 600 watts?? help.

I used to have a VW Golf and I had a JBL BP 1200.1 (1200rms) pushing a pioneer TS -121SPL and had almost no dimming. Both cars have simmilar electrical systems if not the same so I think you should check your alt and/or battery. -

How many more dbs using internal bracing?
rodolfo28 replied to rodolfo28's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Those types of braces I've never seen being used, are those as efficient? -

Bout 1000 USD. I've been hearing a lot from those BTL's. Are they any good? I mean I don't recognize the brand... Yes, Fi car audio makes good sub woofers. I have heard nothing but good things from them. Also it would have costed about half of what you paid for that W7 to get a fully loaded BTL. Hey, do you have any pics or links of those subs? -

There are not too many good sub brands back in my country, unless you like Audiobahn, Fusion, Kenwood... Well Kicker's a good brand but anyways I love my 13W7 and yes it was expensive as hell! -

Bashe don? What do you mean man? BOX EXPLODING OR SOMETHING? I'm not competing anymore I just love good deep and hard bass (the harder the better) -
Ok, guys I have a ported enclosure with a 13W7, It hasn't been braced... How much more spl do you think I could gain if I braced it? I'm using 3/4" MDF and I'm driving it with a JBL GTO 14001.

Amp question
rodolfo28 replied to Mynameismcgyver's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Really interesting... Both amps have the same crossovers and boosts the only difference is power. -
Thanks for that info man! So it I have 2 amps a RF 200.2 and a 225.2 ( The old punches, the first makes about 400 watts and the latter about 450). Do you think it would be ok to hook them up each at a voice coil of a dual voice coil sub?

Amp question
rodolfo28 replied to Mynameismcgyver's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
This is 100% a myth. The outputs never have to be matched when running seperate coils with seperate channels or seperate amps. Either way you want to do this is fine. Could you comment more about that? I'm no expert but have been researching on these topics for years...
