That's awesome to hear. Would the shop consider checking out some of our stuff? We stick to mostly main stream stuff and have a pretty wide offering, Kenwood, Pioneer, Clarion, Alpine, JL Audio, Rockford, Hertz/Audison. I don't know what your wholesale pricing is like but we're in Canada and after shipping & duty/customs it may be difficult to put a retail price tag on that "looks" comparable to online pricing. That being said, I know it's good product and if there is a possibility of making a little profit there may be interest. I had a GCON 15 in my car that everyone at the shop was VERY impressed with

Rear View Mirros/Camera
gss replied to Sencheezy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
http://www.crimestopper.com/products/safetyplus/cameras/securview-cameras.html I use these all the time, lots of different styles to choose from. Clarion also has a nice little camera that is well priced. As for viewing your camera, most DDin radios give you the option to reverse trigger as well as manually pull up the camera image, Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, and Clarion all do this for sure. The pioneer app radios are the easiest to use in this manner, there is an icon on the screen much like your smart phone to turn the camera on. With the camera on you simply touch the screen to return to your audio controls, when you are done with audio controls and have not touched the screen for a few seconds it flips back to the camera. -
Rear View Mirros/Camera

if you're going to have one that is always on why would you need another that switches with reverse? If you use a decent quality camera it will have very wide coverage so two would be redundant. -
I've been running a GCON 15" on 1000wrms for about a year and a half, still going strong.

sounds like a gain matching issue

This can be a tricky situation, the signal from the stock head unit is NOT speaker level which is what you want to feed into the LOC. It can sometimes be within range to work and sometimes you can just connect RCA's directly to the stock head unit, it is all dependent on the output voltage from the stock radio. This is why it usually works better with LOC's to use the amp's output, this way you know you have a speaker level signal and that is what a LOC is meant to work with. Another thing OP may want to try is unplugging one RCA cable from the amp, if the LOC was wired out of phase it could cause the problems he is having and unplugging one cable will show it immediately.

That seems like a very big box for 12's. 3.9cu.ft. per is waaay more than recommended, is there a reason for going this big?

where are you going to put a 72" wide box?? -
All of those subs would make my day. But it wouldnt fit my budget. Im looking for under 300$. The only SSA product i could afford would be the Gcon and I'd need a little more than that. So for now buying new im looking at DC lvl 3, Fi SSD, PSI platform 1 + upgrades, IA Lethal Injection. Thanks for the options though bro. those are all good subs, really depends on your goals. I have a Platform 1 15" and a GCON 15", they are very similar. I'm curious why you think you would not be happy with a GCON but may be with a Platform 1 ? and I agree with Cablguy..... DSS has definitely peaked my interest

At least Fi and DC have specific upgrades. Not sure what "high performance" means. Right from their site: "High Performance" option. Here’s what all upgrades you’ll get for the Platform 2 Series 15": Extended length aluminum flatwound voice coil Dual stiff spider suspension Dual stitched heavy gauge leadwires I honestly don't understand all the hate PSI gets around here, especially from people who have not used the product. I don't have a ton experience with PSI but from what I have used, they are comparable to many of the other brands that receive blind praise.

The Tube drivers are awesome, had some once upon a time but stupidly let them go

With those dimensions if you used a 6" aeroport, 19" long, that would give you 3.11 cu.ft. net tuned to 32Hz. An XCON 15 will work in that.
-
I'm getting 3.65 gross with those measurements. After port and woofer displacement that's plenty of room for a single 12, if you could stretch it just a little more there's probably room for a single 15. The XCON 15 will work in 3.0 cu.ft. ported.

I've had both, m3 sitting next to me right now, and they are both really good 8" drivers. Performance is similar, if you've heard one of them and liked it you would most likely be happy with the other as well. Something else to consider is customer service, Sundown's CS has always been regarded as very good and if bought through a store with great CS (SSA) it's even better. DC, IMO, in the past has been sketchy, but now with some legit online sellers and not "reps" with secret pricing it seems to be looking up.

Spark plugs can be an issue in the ford modular motors, they get seized in and break when trying to change them. -

I have a GCON 15 that I love, one of my good friends was also very impressed with it but didn't like the wait time. After some searching and comparing he decided to go with a platform 1 15". It has been in his car for over a year now with 1800rms on it and is holding up fine and sounds great. Would i purchase a psi sub for myself......yes. would I have them re-cone a Fi built woofer with mix 'n match parts...........no.
