    XTA vs ASA amps

they are both starsound amps. the 1200D is the old 3000D with is the Startsound SSA7000D & the ASA2000.1 is the starsound 6000D...& is the same amp as the Hifonics brutus & the VFL150

BIILLLLL!!!!!! hey my messenger won't load I got MSN goin though if you are on it. BTW have you herd about the 1200.1 Nemmy must be PISSED!
  4. umm, yeah, but on your components is where you will really hear the diff between the xa line and the asa line.
  5. go for an XA2150, you will love the headroom, & the clarity. the ASA400 might leave you wanting more. the ASA line of amps seems like Interfire/power acoustik/lightning audio the XA line I would pit against JL/ARC BUT the bigger ones have more power than either of those lines have to offer.

    2006 powerbass info

eeehhh.....I dunno about that 2/3 volumne thing. we just toasted a set breaking them in like that. I went against my better judgement & poof! so when we get them back, I'll break em in like the old XS's, & let y'all know (BTW the ols XS's were in this setup, & we swapped for the 3XL's)

LOL, no usually they are pretty burly subs. LOL Also I don't work for Powerbass....ehh, one day maybe, but they would have to convince me to give up my shop

    PBX XS15dv2 280oz magnet

size box & tuning all depends on vehicle & what you are looking to attain with them. comaprison wise.....here is list of sube about the same that I have used: Atomic AP with SPL motors (Atomics are .7 quieter & don't handle as much power) American Bass VFL (almost identicle to the Atomics) SoundStream T4 Tarantula (2db ish quieter & slightly less power handlng) MTX 9500 dual 4 (MTX 3.5 quieter, but MTX sounds better & handles WAY more Power...they just take the power, but don't get any louder) Memphis Mojo (.3 off of the Powerbass, & handles about the same power...we used the dual 2 mojo) We have run the XS's in just about every setup imaginable. they seem to do the best with 1 XA-3000 to a pair of the 15. Here is a list of my #;s in my rex with a bunch of different amp setups. My box is 10cuft, & setup as a wall. tunes at 50Hz, & my burp note is 52Hz with 2 XS15D1's. all #'s are with the new TL XA 2150 (300W rated figure around 1K at 17.5 V) 149.9 2 Interfire IFD1000C's (rated 900W total Power around 3500) 152.8 1 XA3000D (rated at 3KW on 12V) 154.7 4 Interfire IFD1000C's (around 7KW at 16.5V) 155.8..my usual setup 4 Powerbass XA-3000D's subs blew in less than 1 second, & swapped to the dual 2's for the show, & still blew both subs before we got the burp off, rolling onto it still pulled a 158.5......just a side note, about every 2-3 times we blow a sub with the 3000D's, we blow an amp ...BUT PB is AWESOME at getting us new amps

wait....they are dual 1ohm VC, then how did you wire 1 at 1 ohm? hmmm. check where the tinsel leads are soldered onto the push terminals to see if the solder broke. I have had that happen MANY times with the older PB subs. Other than that the XS's are almost bullet proof.
  10. just did a 300.2, & it had about as much power as the VR3 amp it replaced, but was cleaner. It didn't like running bridged to a single 4 ohm sub though (Pioneer 10). for the price it is an ok amp, nothing at all like the XTA amps. (XTA's being WAYY UNDERRATED) the "600watts" on the case of the asa300 was embarrasing to try to explain to the customer though. I told them it was an "ALS" measurement (As Lightning Strikes). come on PB put 250 on the amp & make us all happy (20 amp fuse...so not even on 18V would it come CLOSE to 600W)
  11. OK folks. I am getting ready to drop a sizeable order with my freinds at Powerbass, but am wondering if anyone that has used the XS subs, & swapped to the XXXL subs, what they thought of the change. I have a customer that I did 2 XS15's, & wants to try the XXXL's, & I don't want him to spend the $$ & not get as much outta them....so let me know what y'all think....please no lip service, if they are better great, if not please be honest...as we are talking about $800 of this guys money (I would be selling him the XXXL for $400 each)

    ES-15Dv.2

Actualy we have had good luck with the DS line ( ES12DS specificly) we are puling 57's out of 4 of them (USACI NEW TL) in a wall in 94 Blazer. Also, we tested the ES12DS's right along side of 4 Atomic AP 12's (with SPL motors) & only lost .1 (this is with 2 Earthquake D1's). But yes the XS's are the SPL guys sub of choice......up to about 3500W each....then we have run into thermal problems......Best we've gotten so far was 167.7 on the old TL......but we only get about 12burps out of each sub, so tuning is VERY frustrating. BTW that 67 is with 2 Powerbass 3000D's NOT strapped.....at 18V

    Sub rattle

if it is one of the early v.2 PB had a glue issue. If it is one of the older all black basket ones, I would think you are WAY over extending the sub. I would give PB a call. Also if you wanna fix it yourself (if you get no where with PB) I use "Automotive Amazing Goop" you can find it at Andy's true Value. It is in a red tube & comes out clear. It gives about 1 min of adjustment time before it sets, then is totally set after about 24 hours. But yeah, FIX it before you play it any more. Because what you hear rattling is the Voice Coil on the pole peice!!

    XA-3000D question

1 ohm strapped. so you only have to deal with 1 bass knob & you don't have to gain match them
  15. basspro

    XA-3000D question

yeah, they'll take it, not 4 street bass though...although I doubt that you listen to 2 of em for SB....for burps hell yeah, & they put out a little more BUT SUCK down the juice 2 do it. you have better have some batteries on em. we run ours at 18V running at .35 & get 115V ish outta them.....be carefull though, if you toast a sub, chances are you will take out an amp. they have very little protection in them...wich is good, for the fact they they will let you abuse them for comps, but don't over do it
