distribution blocks....
holley2346 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have not been able to find an unfused distribution block for 1/0 gauge wire..... it needs to connect like 4 0 gauge wires. -
How About a Side by Side by Side by Side by Side Comparison?
holley2346 replied to rushnrun's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I love the insides on sundown amps.... beautiful. -
I have "scared" people sitting in the passenger seat plenty of times. Sat in the walmart parking lot and scared the crap out of people in the parking lot. Was just playing my radio and pulled into cici's a couple was hugging in front of where I parked. P*ssy money weed came on by lil wayne and the man jumped back a good ways. bl's ftw.

SSA DCON GIVEAWAY! 2 SUBS!
holley2346 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in News, Announcements, and Lobby
1. Sundown Audio 3000D 2. Installed multiple systems been doing it for a while 3. Close! 4. will do! 5. have 600+ songs in my bass playlist 6. will do! -
Is this possible? I would be interested if so.

I'm getting a bigger alternator sometime very soon. So you don't think I should get a Solenoid and a good sized dry cell in the trunk? What's a good battery to put up front in your opinion? An Optima Yellow Top? Yellow tops have done good for me so far, but god they are so heavy.
-
0 out of 4 of my bl's were packaged that good lol! Should be interesting.
-
I can't speak for the BTL but I can pretty much promise you that you will be more than happy with a bl. It could most likely take everything that amp has.
-
Yeah I used to play that song all the time, subs looks pretty cool moving real slow at a few hz.
-
What price range?...... I would go with Sundown Audio. Best products I've ever installed.
-
Been running sa 3kd with stock alt & 2 yellow tops in the back. Minor light dimming but working good so far. Going to get a h/o alt eventually.

Thanks... I have 4 120 mm fans ready to go into it r. the amp half is going to be sealed off from the battery side. Air will come in on the far right of the box (rca side of amp) and leave next to the power supply of the amp. The only reason they aren't installed is because my drill stopped working. It's about 15 or so years old needs replacement anyway. edit: I also gotta get some gold plated terminals to pretty it up... the lead ones don't look so hot. Also you can't see it in the picture but I have blue neon tubes inside which doesn't look bad it actually does not look gaudy at all.

Made a battery / amp holder. Organized things pretty good. Still needs some touching up. My only drill that accepted over sized bits went out so I was not able to drill the holes for my fans, just running it without the plexiglass top for now..... actually used adhesive glue for this one. On my box for the 18's I was trying some new stuff that you roll on not the spray kind and I could NOT get it to work for anything. Over all I think I did a good job.

Glad you decided to go with the bl, I promise you will love it.

amp question
holley2346 replied to mikek's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
But if you are running on a stock hu and using a lo converter and can not control the sub setting you must use bass boost... use it wisely. Although some subs can be tortured and still work for a while it is NOT good for them and will likely kill them as they will be producing a lot of heat.... Rule of thumb keep bass boost on 0... when subs are clipped badly there will be an audible difference in sound, but you shouldn't check for clipping by ear. -
Yeah I fixed it after I took the picture, tightened it up and wrapped it in tape. Also used a new ring terminal. Other than that what do ya'll think. Also, I never could find any 0 gauge distribution blocks, which is why I just used wire from battery to battery.

As an update to this I have had everything installed and working for a few days now and everything seems to be doing very well. Got everything set right on my amp.I don't have any numbers on it.... I don't know anyone around here with a meter. But it is definately loud, get plenty of flex. Amp gets pretty hot and subs are pretty warm. Only got stinky the first day. No Problems so far, and my particle board box has not even cracked yet haha. I get TONS of vibration and noise from the back cargo door and was wondering should I mat it up, or use expanding foam? Thanks fi and sundown.
