I am also on the same fence as you. Physically they look nicer but until there are some tests its hard to pull the trigger on something that is still unknown.

Yea that goes without saying. Without any reviews since they're brand new its hard for me to drop 1k on subs that I don't know much about. I've ran the triple slug and ufo btls so this seems like a nice step up. I have 2 3500s that id like to run to a pair of 15s. What size box would I be looking at with this? 3.5ish? Tuning would be mid 30s. How will these take it? I'm on the edge of getting xs v2s but I like the look of these a lot hence why I compared the two. He knows a thing or two about both of these so I figured id ask the man himself.
-
Yea well the xs v2 is rated for 2k but idk anyone who follows that. Maybe per coil... I would like to know its limitations but alright.. thanks.

So what kind of real world power handling can we expect from this sub? Could this be comparable to the crossfire xs v2 power handling since it too has a 4" coil and a high strength motor? Seems like the spider spacer option would help keep the coil more linear when fully xmax'ed. Not trying to start a vs thread but just wanted to know what we can compare this too in terms of handling. Thanks

Hey I was wondering if you could give me a price for alts that fit 2009 ford escapes 2.5l 4 cyl. Also, would like to run 18v so I either need a dual alt bracket for my car or if thats not possible then one with an external reg. or whatever is necessary to run 18v. Ready to order very soon, please get back to me ASAP. Thanks

Hey I just left a ticket for you guys at DC but I am just trying to get my question answered asap. I have a 270sp to fit my 99 Bonneville sle and really need to know what my options are as far as other vehicles it will fit. Would love to know if it will fit any newer jeeps or suv's from ford. Thanks!

Can you guys post any real world testing that has been done to give us an idea of what we are looking at? Possibly a pic or a vid?..

So I check p chamfer, not cooling, and I dont need universal because its dual 2 and I wont need to switch. Sound right?

Looking for new setup. From the sounds of it, Fi seems to be the way to go. I have a Chevy Blazer and I like to listen to mainly rap with deep bass sounds. The Fi BL 15" or 18" look like they will do the job. Still undecided on the amp to run this. After looking around, Sundown or RF look like they would be well suited to handle it. Will they're be any other things that I will need if I run this? Advice appreciated.
-
So now I'm confused. Does the p chamfer include cooling? Universal is a good thing then..
-
Ya I should have known that. Sorry for being repetative but what exactly is the universal option and should I choose yes or no for that? Thanks
-
Alright sounds good, thanks for all the help guys. Before I go off buying the sub though, I can uncheck the p chamfer if I mark the cooling option right? And should I check universal?
-
Hello, I have been interested in car audio for awhile now. Looking to buy a new setup. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
-
Dual 2 ohm for the 18" Fi BL if im running the SAZ 1500D? Also, I wont need to mark the p chamfer if I mark the cooling option am I correct? Last but not least, I'm sure I could look up what the universal option is but while I'm posting this I might as well ask, what is it? Thanks for all the help guys.

So do you think that my local car audio shop would know how to do the big 3 or would I have to describe it to them? I now know why my last setup made my lights dim and it was only 800 watts of power, lol. Maybe they don't know what it is because they were the ones who set mine up..
-
Ya I keep hearing the big 3 thing, what exactly is that?
-
Sounds good man, thanks alot. I was actually thinking tuning to 32 hz so that confirmed my decision. Can't wait to finally purchase the equipment and get to work. Should be much easier thanks to you guys. Oh and before I rush anything, do you think I will need to buy any batteries or alternator if I'm using the SAZ 1500d?
-
Well as of right now I have a chevy blazer. Basicly any reasonable size should be able to fit, so shoot away. Thanx
-
Any ideas on how many cuft. and what to tune the box to for an 18" Fi BL? I hope I worded that right.. Advice appreciated
-
The only question that I really have now is whether to go with the 15" or 18" BL if I'm getting the SAZ 1500D to run it. Are there any really noticeable differences between the 2 if I'm going for the really low bass?
-
Ya ours isn't very much help. 1 of them say to go with the mtx 9500 with a $700 RF 1000 watt amp and nothing else. The other says to go with the JL 12w7 with a variety of overpriced amps. It seems like they only try to influence you on their most expensive equipment and not on what kind of sound you actually want. So basicly all of my research is done online and I don't get to actually hear what I'm buying. Not an easy decision.
-
Alright sounds like a good deal. I'm just worried that the equipment won't turn out as everyone says it will. I've went to 2 local car audio shops and when I asked them their opinion on the subs and amp, they had no idea what Fi or Sundown was. Not that their opinion plays a factor if I'm going to get that setup or not, but a little reassuring would have been nice, lol.
-
So the Fi and Sundown websites are reliable sources to buy equipment right? I'm not much of an online buyer so ya...
-
Trust me I would love to overpower rather than underpower, but is it necessary? Also, in your opinion, would you rather have a Sundown or a RF? Sorry for all the questions but I just want to make sure I do it right. Also, which way would you face the subwoofer if its in the back of a Blazer. I've heard facing the port and subwoofer upward. Is that the best way?
