Clif Designs CD4800.1LX
barnie replied to chad y's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the new design is pretty decent but not cheap, i have spoken to the build house and they are a top company, they build for many top brands and ive actualy posted a picture before from the buildhouse with all their brands in, it may have been stolen from another forum basshurtz uses actualy and whilst MA and Cliff designs used to use the same boards for some of there lines the are moving more apart and becoming independent, the new cliff lines are actualy very good -
cheers i can get posting again now yay

Which Amp
barnie replied to Gettindegreez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Just wondering why would you stay away from the Diamond? whilst they are very good amps i would put my money elswhere, its hard to justify them, prices for you may be ok but here in the uk they are very expensive hence why we dont use them much -
Which Amp
barnie replied to Gettindegreez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
PHD is also available in the states and will sit around those prices tbh i wouldnt touch the diamon, DLS is now worth a look and you get good prices in the states, the audison would be my choice i also have a new celestra amplifier in next week $3200 if your interested plus shipping of course -
not sure if you will all know him but ex world rally champ, you may remember him from the X games where he rolled his car and still completed the course http://news.scotsman.com/entertainment.cfm?id=1483222007

tbh i didnt think mikes post was that bad, a customer phoned up and and wanted something different than normaly produced and was expected to pay full price, whats so bad about that his reply post could have been worded better but it wasnt that bad

Audiopipe Amps?
barnie replied to Schmuck's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
they actualy come from a pretty decent buildhouse and the amps are decent enough, the downside is you will have an aidiopipe badge on it if you can get it cheap and can hide it then go for it -
wouldn't even bother thinking about it

my drivers will be ready quicker at this rate i have to say im looking forward to seeing the results

how to set gain with Oscope??
barnie replied to SQnissan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Of course your amp will clip differently with different loads, so you sort of need your speakers connected to do this. Which also means they better be able to take the power otherwise you are going to blow your speakers in the process of gain setting. you dont need a load unless its class D, a load wont change the point of clip Class D need the load to work properly, they can produce very funny output waveforms without a load as it makes up part of the output filter. and they can go pop if powered with no load i prefer to use a scope instead of a DMM -
they did i rmember them quite well

i remember the yellow cone ones, i was speaking to the bloke but i don think they ever made it into production i cant remember who it was as a load of my pm's have ben deleted
