    SPL BOX ADVICE CHEVY CAVALIER

no mods to the trunk can happen, its in the rules.. i really just want to do it with one 12. im about 99% positive if i put another 12 in there ont he same power i would get there. lol. but thats not my goal. my goal is 1 12" on 2000 clamped power. and btw 1 15 in trunk class is putting up a 150 on 2000 watts clamped power.. as soon as i can find some time im going to try to increase box tunign some how, probly build a new box...

Fi BL 12 vs (underpowerd) Fi BTl 12

my drop in comparison on same power from bl to btl was no audible difference. lows got a little tiny bit stronger with the btl, but not that niticable. but when i gave the btl the power it wanted... completely different story... lol...

12" BTL how loose should the suspension get?

not yanking it below tuning, on tones i got the sub to its max on excursion wise... so im not sure if thats a bad thing for a burp? i have the subsonic set with my oscope to 32 hz, box tuning is 34 hz. any tips on getting the excursion level down while still maintaining the same decibel number? also im competing in a division that clamps the amp, so playing the note closest to the box tuning will show less power actually being thrown at the sub? Thanks guys Then that isn't where your box is tuned to... At tuning frequency that should be where your excursion is the absolute least and your impedance is highest. it is the absolute least and it where my score is the highest as well: im pretty sure its tuned to 34 hz... and i think its getting used to the power and stuff now, causer the cone gets very little warm compared to the first day i put the 3000 in. id like to think that because the sub was on only 1000wrms for about a month it got used ot it and then when it hrew some power at it it was like: "holy shit what is this!!!" then its like "oh thats not so bad..." lol. but you guys make great subs thats for sure, just dont want to blow it..

some how it poped up to a 147.0 @ 34 hz today... could the temperature have an effect on it? it was a little cool today, maybe the alt was putting out more power or something... but i repeated the score 4 time buy letting it sit for 5 minute with car off and turning it all back on... IDK, but i find it impressive for the 12" to hit that loud and low... but its still no 150. still need suggestions.

LOL at the cool ass car comment. hahahaha. if your talking about the signature pic then thats just my dream, if your talking about the way it really is then i am sorry for you... lol. dang i didnt know i was that good at photoshop... haha and i could strap another one, just not right now, im restricted by power, can only throw 2000 watts clamped power at the sub so doing the extra amp wouldnt help, yes i do have room for more batteries.

for usaci they rate you on your 4 ohm amp power for all your amps. so, what amps do you have in the car and what are their rated 4 ohm power? then you will be entered into classes that way. they will help you out when you get there. just try out a few different ones. have fun and meet people. you will learn ALOT at your first show!
  18. got any for 2/0? lol 124108-001 - 124108-001 awesome! Thanks alot. im going to try these out. but i think im still going to do the buss bar idea for all the connections in the trunk.
  19. Hi all, My question is a daily/Competing question. it has to do with the Street classes in DB drag. in street A they only allow One (1) battery in the stock location. which is fine, for competing and doing the whole burp it and go thing. but with an saz-3000 i feel i will need more than one battery for daily driving and for the other organization im competing in Midwest SPL (no battery restrictions). so my question is what is the best way to do this? safely of course. My initial thought was to have a sort of buss bar for positive and negative (this may get complicated so bear with me). I will run one 2/0 welding cable from the front battery to the trunk Buss bars (both positive and negative) the bus bars will be mounted near each other, but not too close. they will be very close to the second battery that will need to be removed for db drag. and just use the buss bars for the amp pos and neg and the removable battery pos and neg. the buss bars would be covered in a way that they would not and could not ground or arc to anything. any other ideas on this? Thanks for your time, Anton Miller

This!, my 12" does a 143.1 Streat beat (bass race) on this song. but like stated beofre evry vehical is different. just make sure the bass doesnt stop during the 30 seconds! u need to play the bass the entire time to get a good score. if mr weber is there tell him anton says hi. lol where is the comp anyways? probly milwauke... too far for me.
  21. Hi all, I'm working on a design for 3 18" BTL's for a jeep grand Cherokee, the hard part about this is that he wants to run the vehicle in the "no wall" class for db drag, meaning that you cant have any part of the audio above the window line. so this creates a space issue. he also is going to be using about 6 Power master D3100 batteries. so that takes up some of the space. the space we have to work with is 66" deep x 43.25" wide x 18" or under tall. now the batteries (which will be connected with buss bars) will be in front of the box. this will take about 14 inches of the depth, so that leaves us with 52 inches. now if you try to port firing backwards that takes away another 10-15 inches for the hatch to not block the port or act as an extension of some type. so thats where i came up with if we can port upwards we will gain that extra 10-15 inches back and can get more internal volume for the box. now im basically asking the box designers out there, "what would you do?". i will be working on getting a 3d model/drawing completed here in the next hour or so, i just wanted to post this before i started working on it. Thank you for your time, Anton Miller
  22. thanks for the input, that would definitely be a cheaper and easier way to do it!
