and later on down the road if you go with the 12 you wont have to upgrade the sub to upgrade the spl level. just get a bigger amp. the btl can take alot more than rated.
-
i would think the 12 would move as much air as the 15. my 12 moves a ton of air. and then later on down the line if oyu want to throw more power at the sub you can do that with the BTL not so much the bl

Hello everyone, I am working on a design project for school and i need to know the size of the 1/0 gauge wire, the diameter with the insulation on the outside. or if someone knows where i can find this information that would be great. but the easiest way i thought of finding this info was to post it on here knowing that there are many people with 1/0 gauge wire in there car. so if a couple of you could get me the outside diameter of the wire and what brand the wire is that would be very helpfull. The only table i found on the diameter was from the wire itself, i want it with the outter insulation casing. Thank you all very much

1/0 wire diameter

k the biggest ive found so far is 15.2 mm does anyone have any wire that is bigger than this? thanks -
you pretty much said what each one does. so what do you want sq or to get stupid loud? i love my bl but different people have different preferences. i like to not hear anything except the loud bass. but other people like my freinds dont want that so they go the sq route. so its completely up to you. its your money, spend it the way you want to.

1/0 wire diameter

its for a school project (going to school for product design) where we have to come up with a product and prove that it works to our own specification and so on. im jst in the research stage and soon i will be getting on to concepts and working drawings. im just going to contact some companies on monday to find out there diameters and the tolerances, if they will be kind enough to tell me. the idea i have is to some how make it easier to snake thicker gauged wire through the standard firewall. come up with some sort of holder for the wire and also have it strip the wire after you get it through. my specifications so far is that it mush be easy to use, accommodate 1/0 wire, fit through most cars fire wall, and strip the wire. and yes if you could do that for me it would be great! thanks for your help. -

no i need to know the outside diameter. its for a design project that need to accommodate the 1/0 outside dia of the wire. i know what to look for in wire i just need the various different companies outside dia. i figured maybe some people would know. thanks again -

thanks and yea i want the outside dia with the casing if its possible. and i know it will be hard to be specific but i want as many different brands as i can get. that way i can try to design around the wire size. i just cant find it anywhere.... also if you could borrow somones caliper and measure it or get a measurment some other way for me that would be great! Thanks -
i forget how much they are but you could look into the aq 2200.

i wouldnt do the port firing into the cabin with the sub firing toward to the trunk. i heard it is not a good idea. unless you go bandpass or face the sub towards the cabin and seal the trunk off. but im not a pro. and you can try whatever you want.
-
i would go with a bigger port. but that could be just me. my port is 39 sq inches and im at 2.5 cu ft at 34 hz, and i still get a little port noise. so i would go bigger around 40 or so.
-
how do you calculate the dual slot port's dimensions? like the port area and the length?

well as the title states, i want to know if it will be enough power to run the 15" BTL untill i get more money for a bigger amp. basically will it hurt the BTL to be underpowered? it will be in a ported box tuned to 32-35 hz not sure yet. probly around 4.5 cu ft and yes the rockford does that much power. its on my spec sheet i got with it. 1870 at 1 ohm, with a THD of .22% at rated power (im guessing that means at 1500 rms) also will it be a big upgrade in spl from a 12" BL, on the same amp? (not running at full power, probly around 1200 right now)
-
im running my amp the 1500-1bd rockford on stock everything. not even big 3 i know its horrible but its possible. i have 120 amp alt stock
-
really? 28mm is what it says on the website. i thought that it would go higher because its a add on option.
-
how much is the xmax on the BTL with the hi xm coil?
-
i forget how much it is but the aq2200 i hear is a good bang for the buck.
-
Really????? Dang that sucks.... ill have to find a TL somewhere near me and get a reading off that. is it the most accurate meter?
-
sealed up at the kicks i hit a 144.8 with my single 12" BL. at the dash sealed i got a 144.3 the meter was an audio control. and i lost 1 db when i opened the window. song i used was airforces and hypnotize. they both did about the same number. Basically what i want to know is if this is a good number for a single twelve trunked car? could i get it higher by using a 50 hz test tone or somthing?
-
i also have this question. i have a 12" BL in a 2.5 cu ft after displacement box tuned to 34 hz, i want to go to a 12" BTL in a 4.5 cu ft after displacement tuned from 32-35 hz (havent decided but probly just keep the 34 hz tuning) and keep it on the same power as the bl. its a rockford 1500-1bd and what i want to know is will it be louder? the amp does 1870 at 1 ohm. im not pushing that much to the bl but i more than likely would for the BTL just cause it can take it. would it be a noticable gain? or how big of a gain would it be, loudness wise?
-
34 hz is the tuning of the box. and its got 2.5 cu ft after displacment

rockford or Alphasonic
antonmiller replied to loudmatt420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
rockford is going to put out around 1200 rms at 1 ohm from what i hear thats the typicall output of the 1000-1bd -
arent they just threaded inserts you hammer into the backside of the wood?
-
also did the xmax go down? is there any way i could get the 2008 BL 12" subwoofer specs? id like to know where to find it if i need to build a crazy box or somthing.....
-
First off its hard to tell ow"loud" somthing is from watching a video. you can get a reletive feel for how loud it is but you still really dont know. just because your car or truck doesnt flex as much as mine doesnt mean its less loud. it may just mean your car is put together better than mine. for example my cousins car that i put my old mtx 5500 in with a 200 rms amp on it flexed her mirror alot more than it flexed my mirror and her trunk moves alot more than i expected because my trunk didnt move with that sub. but i still think you should bring that HPF down to around 80. im not saying you did any thing wrong but you should check to see if your wired to a different ohm than you think you are. its possible that your cvr's were wired to get more overall wattage outta the amp than your Bl is. but i dont know that. But from what it sounds like it should be hitting just fine. could you do a vid of the sub moving, as a comparison between what mine moves at and what yours moves at. try "put on" or some thing like that.
